VSA Light During V-tec?

I've noticed that my VSA light comes when I'm cranking into V-tec. This happens every time. I see it blink on then go away, then come back again as I'm reving, shifting, reving, etc. This happens even while I'm driving in a straight line. I have to guess that the VSA is sensing instability, and is reacting accordingly. So it appears that I will need to remember to disengage the VSA before I begin any spirited driving. Hmmm.

Has anyone else with an '07 Si noticed this?

It's just how the system works. If there is any abnormal movements in any axis - it'll just flicker, meaning engine will likely turn down and brakes will be engaged independantly. It really depends on how Honda calibrated the sensitivity of the sensors.

Why in the world would that be nice? I would turn it off unless it was bad weather if I had it. The car is cutting the power, this would actually make you SLOWER in a race with an 06 or an 07 with VSA off. This feature is only for people who cannot drive and people who want extra security in hazardous conditions. I'm also glad I don't have the extra weight.

I can get to the top of 1st and the top of 2nd (sometimes) and it breaks the tires loose with the OEM all seasons. My motor feels very strong, it was broken in very properly. :)

From Honda: VSA

This sophisticated safety device aids the driver in retaining control of the vehicle if wheel slippage is detected. When the driver is cornering or must make a sudden maneuver, the system can sense oversteer and understeer and can brake individual wheels and/or reduce power to restore the driver's intended course.

It happens in 65 F temperature with 18" summer rubber.

When you turn off the VSA the car should act the same as the 06's right? So i can turn off the VSA and the car will act as if VSA is not even in the car correct? Sorry thats the best i can word my question. I am planning on buying an 07 in about 6 monthes and this is kind of worrying me.

You're right, I can deactivate the VSA (push the button). I just wonder why there would be a stability system that is needed to control the car while I'm under heavy acceleration. I mean it's not like this is a 1000 HP supercar.

my vsa light only comes on during my shift from 1 to 2 at WOT, usually cause my wheels lost traction

is the weight factor really noticable? is the weight increase listed on the specs? if so, how much more weigh tdoes this vsa feature add to the car?

i woudl expect the independent braking system creats a lot of weight. how does tthat even work?

Alright that makes me feel better. I think it may activate during heavy acceleration from the wheels loosing traction like others have said. That seems to make the most sense to me. The weight should not be to much of a differance, i think it is just electronics correct?

I accelerate pretty smoothly with my 07 Si....with the VSA ON....and the indicator light never really went on when I have done so...maybe like you said, the sensitivity level is slightly higher or something, or your tires were slipping.

I can chipr 2nd gear with vsa off...i cant do it with it on seems like lol...but nice to have for daily driving and still be able to turn off when racing

It's possible the added power from v-tec is causing your tires to slip a little, like trying to gun it in first gear from a stop on a wet road. What were the road conditions like?

FYI I have never noticed this happening in my 07.

It happens with the road as dry as a bone. (perfect conditions to get grip). Maybe I'm underestimating my Si, or maybe the VSA is set a little too sensitive on mine.
