Lil' Curb Rash :(

So I got out of my car after I parked it this morning, and I found about an inch long curb rash along the rim lip of my front driver's side rim, and a small penny sized scuff on the spoke of my 06 Si's stock rims.

I don't know how this happened...I don't recall EVER curbing anything at all...only time I had a rough exit was I did a 3-point turn several days ago out of a driveway, and went off the curb on one side, but I don't remember seeing it, as I've cleaned it since then.

I have no idea how this happened but I'm sick to my stomach about it, and want to know if there is any way to fix it, but I'm pretty sure there isn't without replacing it/expensive repair.

It's small, but I notice it like someone spilled red paint on my car .

Suggestions? I'll take a picture when it's light out..

Welcome to the club man.....I just curbed my frickin new rim after some freakshow of a woman about ran me over and never looked back...I had to swerve to avoid her and took a nice chunk out of my rim.....I'm royally pissed and there really isn't much I can do but save up for a new one. It's not horrendous, but damnit they were so nice and flawless. Now I have a big jagged chunk out of the lip......oh the humanity!!!!!

Fortunately, mine isn't bent. It's just worn down slightly from the friction and rash.

I have a feeling Honda might be able to "recondition it".

Someone did a DIY on the site on how to fix it yourself, but I dont have the time or workspace to do that, but I wonder if Honda would...

Where can I find one of these "wheel repair places".

Seriously it's hardly any damage at all, but it's driving me nuts. It is probably no more than an inch and a half TOPS, and its only on the lip, and a tiny scuff on the spoke.

Are there "wheel repair" chains or, where would I look to find said places. I just want this fixed .

Also, why won't Honda do it?

If it's not bad, you could then in turn sell your imperfect wheel and recoup some of the cost.

OK, I've got one wheel with curb rash as well. How about we find 2 more of us and go in on a set of new/barely used rims? I've seen sets on ebay for $400, for all four. If we could find someone who would ship them seperately, we're in good shape.

That might be something to look into; I'll let you know if I see anyone else post anything.

*cough cough* I might be selling my 07 stockers *cough cough*

I haven't decided completely though.....part of me wants to keep them and use them in the winter.

Decisions decisions.....

Oh yeah, I'm gonna try to touch my fooked up rim up over the weekend to take away the little scar it has. I was so depressed about it.......hopefully this will take away some of the pain.

WhyTF WOULD Honda do it?

f'n Google "wheel repair" for Christ's sake. You do not need to buy a new rim for a 1" curb mark!

I curbed a wheel a few weeks ago. My brother is a painter and says he can make it look almost new. Luckily, just some paint was scraped off.

With that attitude, I give you a month on here before you work yourself the wrong way with the wrong people.

Try to build up a little credibility before you piss people off.

I've slightly curbed one of my rims and I know why I did it

because the electric power steering on the Si varies with speed, and I once slowed down and took a bite out of a corner.

This from the guy who never previously curbed anything.
