cold air VS short ram?

Hey guys. Simply put I don't know much about intakes. I have a Si 2009 and want to put an aftermarket intake in it. Could you guys tell me what the major differences are between cold air and short ram? and the different kinds? Seems like many people have the fujita SRI. But i thought it was too deep of a sound. please help thanks!

Too deep of a sound? If you think thats too aggressive, then you should just keep it stock. Just my 2 cents.
