So now that we know about the Si sedan...

What about us canadians? I know we don't get the Si sedan, but I don't want it. Because of the omission of the Si sedan in Canada, I've heard we might get an acura CSX type-s. Do we have ANY concrete info on it? I heard some people saying it was just an appearance package like the a-spec package, and others say it was the Si sedan equivalent, as in it had the 197hp engine, 6 speed, lsd, along with the luxury of the acura brand in the leather seats, xenon lights and metallic trim . I would like to know if anyone has heard any information, and if so, when it would be released. (plzplzplz type-s=si engine )

chances are they might add an a-spec, but it is most likely just an appearance package. CSX with the K20Z1 is not likely. It will kill the sales of Si coupe and TSX

If a CSX Type-S does come out........it will be $$$. IMO......the CSX is too expensive for what you get.

It has been stated officially before, because it would destroy csx sales. So because of this, the most logic course of action would be a csx type-s, which is rumored by many. Just wanted to know if we had any concrete info!

Well I have put a refundable 500.00 deposit on my Canadian SI sedan. The dealer says they are going to be available, but did not have any concrete information on colors/pricing/options. Western Canada Honda has a dealer show end of September, so he promissed me full info at that time.

Dealer says they are coming, just not sure when.

Cheers!

Not likely. The CSX is the bridge between the Si and TSX. Performance AND luxury anemities. I hear it is indeed coming, and is supposed to be a K20a2 not the Z1 or the Z3. I'd expect it to be rated with the same figures as the 05-06 RSX-S.

Interestingly enough, I believe Honda Canada announced the Si sedan will not be available in the Great White North....I read it in passing, but perhaps I misread it.

Thanks for the input. I think my dealer is not current with the SI scene, so I called Canada Honda Customer Relations directly, and spoke to a Canada Wide rep, and she confirmed that inded the SI SEDAN IS NOT coming to Canada at this time. The thing is until about 3-4 weeks ago the Canada website stated it was coming, and had an email sign-up for first information/release dates. It has since been pulled completely. For the same price(27K) I see Acura is flogging there 150HP CSX. Civic EX is 22.5K at 140HP. No SHIT nobody will buy a CSX if a SI Sedan is available, but that is simply not giving your customers what they want. Guess what, nobody wants an upscale EX for 4.5K extra and little power difference.

If Honda Canada ever reads the enthuist websites, let me tell you that this a bad decision. LSD, and VSA in the snowbelt areas will be a big plus, and some of us require 4 doors.

Having an upscale line of vehicles with a limited distribution network, and a mainstream line of vehicles for the masses does not need to be hard. Take the K20, slap a turbo on it and make it a CSX260HP/200TQ. Build as many as you can and watch them sell. Leave the Honda badge alone, and offer the SI in 2,3, and 4 door options. Honda=fun/economy, Acura=more fun/less economy.

I am so mad I may go buy a VDUB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Oh right they offer there 2.0Turbo in a 3 door GTI, and in a 4 door sedan Jetta, and the upscale Passat and Audi uses the engine with the A3 and A4. Maybe Honda could learn to differentiate from the Germans. Nobody says dont get an AWD Audi when a FWD VW costs less.

You can mod a VDUB ECU with the maintenance port inside the car, and get 250HP, 300+ TQ for 500 bucks.

Thanks for all your help mods.

Good product, confused company.

Cheers!

It's your perogative if you wanna buy a VW, but you should know, that Hyundai's reliability is currently twice as high as Volkswagen's over the same period of time. Don't just purchase a vehicle because "you can get X amount of horsepower for a lot less." 250hp and 300lb./ft. of torque for $500 isn't going to do anything for you when you're spending a couple G's a year in shop repairs. Do your research and buy what's best for you, but don't look at just performance. Look at the overall cost of a vehicle.

I hear ya. A quick Google brings up a fair number of unhappy VW MKV GTI owners. Not with any major mechanical issues, but alot of small warranty related/Quality Control issues(hancho en Mexico). And not all the issues are fixed by a visit to the dealer, that is the dealer seems unable to fix the issues, sometimes requiring multiple visits to correct the problem.

I run a small business and occasionally need to carry a small amount of freight. My 1993 Accord Hatch could, my 1998 Civic hatch could do it, my 2002 DX-G Sedan can do it and now I want something....um....MORE(Accord V6 is OK, but it really isnt FUN to drive). So the Honda Canada website says, yes there is a SI sedan. My local dealer says, yes there is a SI sedan, then poof, I get told, "well we thought about it and we do not want to cannibalize our Acura CSX sales". 13 years of Honda ownership and now wha?

Why doesn't Honda Canada want the money of 30-40 year olds that grew up on Honda, and wanting a performance model of the cars they grew up with, but fit the "older" lifestyle?

Why does Honda come up with a real winner, and then only produce a small amount, allowing dealers to decide on how much to overcharge?

If I sold widgets a and b, and sold out of widget a, but had to subsidize widget b sales with incentives/perks, then I would make more widget a's and reduce widget b's. Honda could double production of the SI model and sell em all. Honda could quadruple SI production, and offer it in a 2,3,4 and 5 door and sell em all.

Well its not so bad, as I shall drive my rig and see what 2008 brings me.

Thanks for the input.

Cheers!
