Reflash

I just had my car reflashed today. I am not really sure if it did anything different since my car really only surged when I would first drive off in the morning. I did notice that it does not rev hang as bad, but I did think the revs would fall faster like someone had said they would. It also seems to drive just a little smoother. I will post up tomorrow after my drive to work on the surging. By the way, I did have to almost pull teeth to have them reflash the car and after it was done I had a check engine light and figured they were going to blame it on my AEM SRI, but, they did not. The light went away on its own and has not come back so hopefully it is done for good.

I agree with your summation. Mine is pretty much the same as yours. I also think that the v-tec engagement is smoother and not as dramatic. The reflash is an improvement, but the rpms still hang some. It is definately better throttle response.

An update....

I have been driving it since Monday and seemed to be fine. Today I was driving home in the rain and decided to stop for gas. After the fill-up I pulled out of the gas station and noticed the check engine light is back on anyone think this is a reflash problem, did the filter get wet, or did I not tighten up the gas cap enough? I retightened the cap and have driven it to see if it has gone away.

could be a reflash problem. Take it to autozone, get a free diagnosis on the CEL code. Do you have aftermarket intake? Could be a vacuum line or something. Usually when I've had CEL's on my past Toyota, it was a vacuum line, or an O2 sensor. Find out what the code is and go from there. Then go back for service.

Yeah, when the light is steady it is usually something related to emissions (usually centered around the O2 sensor).
If it is flashing that is something completely different and cause for much concern.

I'd just take it back to Honda and ask them to take a look.
