How would you rate...

How would you rate the durability of the Si's clutch compared to a clutch in an ordinary car like a Civic MT or any other ordinary MT vehicle? Or am I wrong and that the clutch in the Si is the same quality as a clutch in a regular Civic MT? I am only asking this question because of what I saw on my bro's car. The clutch was smoking and smelled like sh*t! His car doesn't run anymore. Engine is fine tho.

i remember talking to some people and they tended to rest their foot on the clutch resulting in above average wear

I have to make a effort to remember to not ride the clutch, especially from 1-3 gears. Slowing down on accelerating helps (don't go thru gears as fast, giving you time to "remember" to take your foot off the clutch after you've shifted)

And for the life of my I can't get heel-to-toe shifting down

Well, my 1996 Civic hatchback had 160,000 miles on it when I traded it in for my '06 EX coupe, and the clutch in the '96 still worked perfectly, and it was the original clutch. So...if you don't abuse your Si clutch, it should last a long time. If you abuse it, then all bets are off. :-)

My bro drives a 1993 240sx with S15 conversion. The car itself had 196000 miles however the clutch is relatively new, oem clutch also. He doesnt burn out but he does do hard accelerations from time to time. It looks like the clutch burst or something. It left a nice big puddle of fluid(Tranny fluid probably) and bits and pieces of something on the floor. Looks and smells pretty bad.
