Is there really a special break-in oil? fact or fiction
I've been doing lots of research on this subject, especially since the service manager at my Honda dealership emphatically told me there is no special break-in oil in new Hondas.
At this point, I'm not really sure what to believe. However, I found a thread that was pretty interesting. http://www.elementownersclub.com/for...ght=Blackstone Tell me what you think? augydog

This is a often debated topic. The only relatively consistent item that I have found on the subject is a higher concentration of moly in the factory fill. It actually mentions a higher moly count somewhere in that thread. I posted something regarding moly and its particular use in 'break in' oil, however, enough tests have been done to show that added or high levels of moly are not present in all factory fills so it is hard to be conclusive in that regard.
