Auto door lock/unlock

This is bugging the crap out of me.

I followed the isntructions step-by-step but when I turn the car off it will only unlock my door. My parents did this on their Civic ('06 LX sedan) and have the same issue.

Does it only unlock the drivers-side door when the car is shut off, or what am I doing wrong? Seems retarded that it would only work that way, so I just assumed I did something wrong yet every time I try to fix it it still does this.

Some have told me theirs works on both doors, yet some have said they have the same issue as mine. Myself, along with my father, have done it a few times each on each car to see if we are doing it wrong and the results are the same every time.

Anyone know any differently?

It locks all doors, but only unlocks the driver's door. I imagine they set it up that way just in case you have kids and don't necessarily want them to jump out of the car right away.
