Blind spot mirror recommendations?

Any one using a good blind spot mirror on their side views (those little convex mirrors) for the SI? Also where did you place it (inside/outside/top/bottom)?

Thanks.

I would suggest to just turn your head instead of those mirrors. Anywhere you put those convex mirrors it doesn't look good

I'm not too concerened with how it looks but more for the functionality. I always turn my head, but those mirrors just provide the added confirmation that there really is no one in the blind spot.

Try this for free:

(I recommend this highly for the 2006 Si....)
http://www.cartalk.com/content/features/mirrors/

For anyone who *hates* stick on mirrors and wants to spend some money (just something I saw in the Wall Street Journal, definately not a price/performance solution):

I think I am going to give that top one a try, it is an interesting idea, but god bless the person who messes with my mirrors after they have been set...

You guys are making this way too hard. Spend $2.79 ($1.29 each) and put one on each side. So simple, safe, and ohhhh so fast....I can change lanes twice, before you turn your head once. Just a quick dart of the eyes, gives you safe lane changes faster then
the next guy can blink.

If you're a serious driver you need these mirrors. (if your more worried about looks and car-shows, I understand that's a different hobby, try LCD's monitors, mini TV screens, and back-up cameras) But driving this car fast, you're fighting the blind spot caused by the body of the SI, and the shape of the seats that also make it slower to turn your head.

I had them on my MR2, my dad had them on his Vette, and my brother has them on his Supra. We love them..... I even took a pair when I got a rental car for 2 weeks (couldn't stand to be without).

I had the 1993 MR2 for 13 years and they got stuck-on after the 1st week of ownership, never had a problem

Mark

I was looking for those small square ones, and i could only find them in jumbo size. Where did you get those? Also, do you have the one on the pasanger side also mounted to the inside/bottom of the mirror?

Thanks.

I recommend that Click & Clack (Tom & Ray) suggestion as well. I've been using that technique for quite a number of years now and has been tremendously helpful in minimizing blind spots. It's still recommended to glance to your side, particularly in multilane roads, to see if that guy two lanes over is coming into the lane that you're trying to switch into.

Yep, the small square ones are great. Passanger side is also mounted to the inside/bottom. Takes about a week to get use to.

I just went to 3 or 4 auto stores.... Pep Boys, AutoZone, NAPA, ??? they all carry them, but the small square one's sell-out fast.

And keep looking... They have two sizes in small, and I like the bigger ones for the SI
1.25 inch long vs 1.5 inchs long ( somthing like that)

Are you going to:

A) Glance at your $1.29 extra side mirror, and jump into the fast lane in less then 1.1 seconds
Or...
B) QUOTE "The basic principle is that between your 2 side mirrors, center rear view mirror, normal peripheral vision and forward vision, when the mirrors are in the right position, a car is always visible in at least one of them for 360 degrees. As cars approach from behind, move lanes, etc. they just move from one zone to another. "

I'm a "type A" guy..... speed-is-your-friend when the road is full of giant SUV's being driven by Soccer Moms on cell phones.

learn how to setup your mirrors the correct way....

nothing in your side or rear mirrors should overlap....

side-rear-side

Okay....let me try one more time.

Yes you can get 100% coverage but I don't trust it, when I'm risking $22,000 worth of car, and I want to make a fast safe move without turning my head or body.
Isn't it worth having a $1.29 invested in a back-up system?

For 13 years it kept my MR2 safe without a scratch, even though I drove it, like it was built to be driven. Sort of reminds me of a saying- How do the Italians say it??? "If you are going faster than everyone else, why would you need to look backwards".

If you need blind spot mirrors on a honda civic, then I don't think I'd feel comfortable with you driving me around anyplace.

If you set up your mirrors right, you shouldn't even have much of a blind spot. It's a honda civic, not an RV.
