The time has come!
Hey you guys, I'm just wanting to get everyone's opinion if I could. The time has come for me to get my new car. Saturday, I'm gonna go put a deposit down and specially order my 2007 Civic Si. BUT, it's gonna be about 2 months before it even gets here!
Anyway, I'm totally LOST on what color and accessories I'm gonna get. I don't want black and I'm pretty sure I don't want red (my last car was red, attracts too much attention). My dad talked to his salesman buddy at the dealership today and he said there will be some additional colors in '07, don't know what they are yet though, i'll find out saturday. Also, I think I might just get it with ONLY the HFP front lip and not the sides and rear. I saw someone's car on here that had this and I really liked it. I'm gonna get the fogs too I think, but NOT the Navi. I'm undecided on the HFP wheels (18in.) though. Anyways, don't really know why I posted all this, I'm just SUPER excited right now and wanted to hear your feedback on what color you guys think is the best, that's my main concern. Another thing I wanted to know is, what other cars were you guys considering along with the Civic? I dunno, the only thing that makes me hesitant on the Civic is I heard the ebrake rubs against your leg and it makes it uncomfortable, I don't want to be uncomfortable. Other than that, I'm in LOVE with this car. Sorry for the long post everyone. Any opinions are more than welcome. ![]() |

Your other options in this youth oriented market:
Scoin Tc, Hyundai Tiberon, VW GTI, Saturn Ion Redline, Chevy Cobalt SS The si is the only one worth getting and has the most bang for the buck. Haby Red is my personal favorite but to each his own, black is a second choice, but dito, since you don't like either I'd say Fiji Blue or Tafeta(sp?) White, the grays are boring for such a fun car. I haven't felt the e-brake thing, and frankly it doesn't sound life threatening :P The car is an absolute riot and you're in for the ride of your life, ignoring all the numbers, the g-pad ratings, the 0-60s, the top speed, or the technology such as the lsd, or 197hp, or deliciously fun redline, the feel is what its all about, because most of the time thats what will effect you the most. You might loose or win some straightline drag from a light with a friend, but it doesn't really matter, what does is that feel when you whip it into a corner and it just takes it, when you hit i-vtec's turn on point and the engine lets you know its alive and screaming. You've absolutely made the best choice. top that off its honda quality and engineering, they spend more on engine r&d than ANY other company, not in its class, ANYONE. God I love this car. Also good luck avoiding navi, save the 1800, grab an after market for less than half, and enjoy the padding the extra grand in your pocket offers you (not that you'll need it the seats are exquisite. And remember as far as the waiting it will just be that much better when you get it. Enjoy. -Adrian |

Haby red was my first choice also but I didn't want to wait and my dealer had a Silver one come in and it looked great to me so I nabbed it
They are fun cars and don't worry about the E-Brake rubbing against your leg unless you are 350 lbs and 6'6" you shouldn't have anything to worry about. I am 6'2" and 250lbs and my leg doesn't even come close to the E-brake. It's just how some people are sitting in their cars. Overall a very comfortable car for me and fun to drive. Why wait for an 07 if you can have a killer deal on a 06? If you can find them. They are very rare. When I called around this area nobody had any Si's and the dealer that I got it just had this car come in 2 days ago and I snatched it from him. |

I drove a VW GTI, liked it, but it just wasn't me. Drove 160 miles just to see a Si, drove it and knew that was it. Couldn't work out a deal, so came back home and ordered one from my local dealership.
Mine is black with Navi. Absolutely LOVE the navi. It is so much fun to talk to it and it answers back and does what you tell it. Tell it to play Cds, XM, FM, whatever. Ask it what time it is, Where is the next Gas station, etc. Would not have a car in the future without it! E-brake, don't even know its there, I'm 6'0 no problem at all. I would get the mud flaps, fogs, self dimming mirror, thats it. augydog ![]() |

Anyways, it's already august and I'm just now going to be placing my order. I expect to get it sometime in Oct., which the '07s will be out by then, so why not? Plus, it's likely all and any quirks will be worked out of the car by then (oil leaks, rattles, etc.) I'm 6ft. 2 190lbs, so after hearing your responses, I now am fully confident that this is the car for me! I do like hearing diff. peoples responses/opinions, so please, keep them coming! ![]() |

Go with the Taffeta White or Fiji Blue. Really the best colors on this car I believe. I took a NHB as that was what was available at the time. If I were to order now though, I would go with the Taffeta White. It's a sweet color on this car, especially with nice tint.
Save your money and go for after market wheels. The HFP wheels are not worth the dollar the dealer charges and they are heavy. Get the fogs, summer-tires, and door edge guards. Navi is a nice toy, and I really enjoy mine, but not necessary if your trying to keep the price down. |

MaKo, thanks for the input man, i'll take all that to heart when I go to order it saturday. The door edge guards.. I know they serve a good purpose, but do they take away from the looks of the car at all? |

i have a Honda 4 stroke weedwacker...that thing is insane powerful!
it doesn't have that 2 stroke smell and the best part is the nasty look i get from the guy across the street as i casually start it up on the first pull every single time...he spends more time trying to get his started than he does actually using the thing. i also have a craftsman mower that has a Honda engine. it's nice too....very quite for a lawnmower. maybe someday i'll be able to afford a "real" Honda mower. |

I highly recommend Galaxy Grey. I don't think I would've bought an Si honestly if it didn't come in that color. White's a bit played out but looks very nice, black's cool but a pain to wash (my 7thgen civic was black), I really don't like silver (looks more like light grey), never been a fan of Hab red.
I'd say GG, then white. Car never looks dirty too =) |
