It wasn't until earlier today that I saw the actual service bulletin with the VINs listed and mine was NOT in the range.

I'll say that again my SI was NOT covered under service bulletin 06-052!

I decided to go to the dealer anyway and see what they could do since I definitely WAS experiencing the problem. I even told them when I got there that my VIN was not in the listed range, but they said they'd check it out to be sure.

An hour and a half later (because they had to update their system with the new HDS version) I have what feels like a new car all over again. The PCM update did take, and the rev hang is almost completely gone. Driveability has improved greatly, it's so smooth now!

Cliffs: I have an SI NOT in the VIN range and the update did take and it DID fix the problem!

Well, I am going to call my dealer tomorrow to talk to them about this, I'm hoping i have the same luck as you got, because my vin # falls out of range as yours does, and I am going to absolutely FLIP THE FUK OUT, if they dont do it, so hopefully they will, because i am DEFINETELY experiencing the rev hang, it hangs for atleast 2 seconds between shifting after the cluthc is depressed fully. Wish me luck!

Good luck, I wish I could give you advice on how to convince them but there really wasn't anything magical I did to get them to look at it.

My vin also falls out of the range. I don't have the hang issues as bad as I've seen....but it's still there. I took it in, they hooked it up, and said that there was no update available. Even took the service bulletin with me. Guess I'm just shit outta luck?!? Can I take it to another dealer??

is this the same reflash that kicks the vtech in at lower rpm's. If i do this will honda give me a hard time about my intake.

The guy I spoke to today said that if your VIN falls out of range, even if you are having the problem, they won't fix it. He said if they do, Honda won't pay them for it, so they won't do it since the bulletin has specific VINs. If it didn't have a specific VIN range, it wouldn't be a problem. I just got mine today on my lunch break.

The thing about it that no one really emphasized is the lag when you HIT the gas is gone. Sure, the lag when you switch gears is greatly diminished, but I am much more impressed with the throttle lag being gone. I used to be able to chirp 2nd and 3rd if I made a concious effort, but on the way home today, I was chirping 2nd (and sometimes 3rd) ACCIDENTILY, because, now, as soon as I hit the gas, the rpms rise. You can drive it like other cars now, you don't have to start hitting the gas early.

First to the giy asking if his intake will effe3ct his update, yes put your factory intake back on, because getting aftermarket will void your warranty

and to whom ive quoted, i def heare you on the gas lag when u hit the gas it takes a quick pause till the car reacts.

I left my AEM CAI on and they didn't say anything. I have taken it in for a few different things (oil change, rattle) and no one ever mentioned the intake. Bolt ons will not void your warranty. I don't even think they opened my hood because they plug in their hds computer inside the car under the steering column.

Just got the reflash

I just got my reflash done today and I feel only a slight improvement in the rev hangs so far. The engine also sounds different, but I just can't pinpoint it. I haven't driven it too much yet, but hopefully my mileage will improve. The best I can get is 24 mpg with all freeway driving. I asked them to look at my AC because it totally sucks when I am at a stop. They checked it out and said it was cooling to 36 and just to use the recirculate in stop and go driving. Anyone else agree that the AC doesn't work very well in this car?

Mine works very well, much better than in my 99 Ex. And we're talking in 105 degree weather. I do agree that it does lose some kick at a stop though, but that's to be expected.

My A\C roX. Mad Kold ;c Oh and for the reflash thing, go to your dealer and just complain that the car suicks ause the revs are hanging and its bucking in first, they have to do the bulletin because its under warranty, even if your vin is out of range they have to atleast see if it will take, because honda released a post-bulletin to the reflash one updating with vins that are much higher than the one on this thread, which mine falls into, i think its like 2-3,000 cars after whatever this post reads at the beginning Peace playas, happy v-tekken ;c

Well, I had the service bulletin done Aug 10. It did fix the problem of rev hang and surging in first and second when engine is cold. The other night, I left my headlights on all night (don't ask why) and the battery was so dead I had to recode my radio. Could this have affected my ECU and wiped out the reflash???

got an idea for those of u whose VINs fall outta range...jus print out the service bulliten, and at the top just white out the part bout the VIN #'s "from w.e VIN- W.e VIN" then it will just say "applies to 2006 Civic Si" then hopefully the guy at the dealership doesnt have a highschool or college degree of any kind nd he'll do it 4 u no problems :)

REFLASH

OK so a nice person by the name of JasonAndre sent me the bullitin for the reflash info and according the the vins the ending numbers are 7606 for the end of the reflash update. And I'm 7941 ARE YOU KIDDING ME!! Does that really mean that they won't be willing to update it for me. I was going to print it and take it to the dealer because they said they had no clue about the reflash. But, now I'm thinking if I do that then it will just bite me in the ass since I'm not included in the need for update obviously. Any ideas?

Hey, boo. Where you been? I missed you :)

hehe....

I've only seen one person get the TSB even though they didn't fall in the right VIN search.
