Honda says that the 2008 models are fixed.....I call BS on this. Shifting around town I have to shift at or below 3500rpm for it to be smooth, if I go higher than that the rpms hang and shifting is a PITA. Also, when it's cold first thing in the AM, the car does buck a little here and there. I say this wasn't fixed, but honda doesn't want to admit in 3 model years, they just haven't gotten it right yet.

While the DBW characteristics are really subject to each of our tastes I realized last weekend that I like the way it works now that I'm used to it. I drove my old 2000 Accord last weekend which is, of course, a cable actuated throttle and it's hard as heck to blip the throttle and rev match compared to the Si. Just the tiniest tap and the RPMs go soaring on the Accord as opposed to my Si which is less sensitive at the beginning of the stroke due to the way Honda has programmed it.

I noticed the DBW hang when I first bought the car but now I've completely become used to it and find it better than the cable linkage systems I've driven previously.

I will knock it for the bucking when the engine is cold (stops around 110-115F coolant temp) but even on cold mornings it would climb past this in the 1/4 mile it takes to get out of my neighborhood and on the main street.

I have a 08 and the rpm won't drop between shifts either. I hate it . I took it to the dealer to fix it and they said there was nothing they could do to fix it. It drives me crazy. I called Honda and registered a complaint and got a case # . Anyone else with an 08 that has this problem should do the same so maybee they will look into it. At this time there is no fix for the 08.

I hope they come out with a TSB soon. It is really annoying. I don't know how bad it was before but this is rediculous. I can't drive it like I want without it being jerky. I used to own a 03 EM2 MT and I still like the feel of a cable throttle better, I may just be old fashioned. My friend's 06 RSX-S is a lot eaiser to drive smoothly.

It's either operator error or you have problems with the DBW system on that particular car because I have absolutely no problems with DBW on mine and actually like it a lot. Is there a chance that you're going back and fourth between a DBW and cable system? I will admit they are different but after just a little bit of time you get used to either.

I have an '09 Si sedan and it does the same thing. It really doesn't bother me but if they can do something about, then i'll have it fix (if it's free of charge!)

Does this affect the 09 Si's, or did they take care of the software prior to releasing the 09's?
Thanks.

You'll still experience a slight rev hang and jerkiness when the car is not warmed up, but it is greatly improved from 06 models. I have an 08 and the car's behavior in the cold is my greatest complaint, and shifting into 2nd gear grinds if you do it too fast.

Has anyone ever tried going to the dealerships with their 08 Si's and asking for a reflash? My 08 sedan still has annoying rev hang and surging/bucking in first gear.
