I just called my dealer and the lady on the phone said it wasnt pulling up anything about this, and i explained to her what it was and could give her the bulletin # or operation code, and she was a lil confused that i knew that stuff, heh, and after she looked it up with the bulletin # she found it but was still confused why it was not showing up under my vin number.. She put me on hold, went out and asked a tech about it, came back and setup my appointment and said it shouldnt take more than an hour, and that it won't neccesarily fix the problem completly but should help..

So i guess on monday at 930am we will see if it is fixed =D

Keep us posted I too have an '08 with the rev hang problem. I started a thread on the "mechanical problem forum" and got my thread locked by a mod, telling me to do a search and that it's been discuss multiple times. I didn't realize it was such a widespread problem.

Good luck with getting it resolved, and again keep us posted.

Rev Hang

I've also got an '08 Si. I've complained to the dealer about the rev hang; they acknowledge there there have been a number of complaints, but state they "can't do anything about it".

I look forward to seeing if anyone else with an 08 can get this resolved.

Can't they just refer to the original TSB for the '06 and fix it?

Guys, I think the rev hang issue was resolved part way through the 2006 model year. What you're experiencing is probably just a flaw in the DBW system. I know two guys that have Pontiac GTOs, which are DBW, and have the exact same thing happening to them that occurs with my Si (purchased June 2006 none the less).

The technology just hasn't been perfected yet...it's not as responsive as a throttle body cable. You'll get used to it. Hell, I was annoyed by this issue at first and complained to Honda, but after having my car for a year and a half now, I actually kind of like how it behaves now. Just my .02, take it how you will.

I guess what I don't like about the problem is that it occurs any time I take my foot off the throttle. The revs take about 3 seconds to start coming down, which makes controlling the vehicle's speed in heavier, slower traffic kind of a pain.
The engine responds instantly to increases in throttle input; I can't understand why it would be so hard to control in the other direction.....

simons2k - I asked, but they were unwilling, as my VIN falls outside the range.

That sucks. I think the vin# range thing is bs. If the problem exists, the problem exists. And if it's within warranty limits it should be corrected UNDER WARRANTY.

Well, I bought my Si from a friend who's dad owns the dealership. I'll see if he can hook it up for me.

lol, sure, I'll see what I can do.

I plan on doing the Hondata Reflash on the CPU and from what I understand, it will correct the rev-hang problem too.

I can't believe that this is still an issue with the current SI! I remember reading about these issues last year and my brand new 2007 SI has all of the symptoms; rev hang, lurching when "cold" and poor mileage. I'll be hounding the dealership tomorrow to see if I can get mine re-flashed...

My dealer said "They all do it." There really isn't anything they can do about it at the dealer level, I suppose. If Honda has let it go on this long, I don't see much hope. My '07 has had horrible rev hang since day one... and I never did get used to it.

The rev hang is the only disappointment I have with the car. It's fricken annoying. My rev hang problem is pretty bad. The rpms actually rise up a bit before it "hangs".

I'm not too sure if the Hondata reflash will even cure this problem. From what I hear, Hondata uses the same reflash code/program that Honda uses to supposedly correct the problem on the '06 models.

I'm still doing the Hondata reflash for the performance factor but I'm hoping that I get an extra benefit from it.

I own a 07 Si Sedan and I've experienced poor gas mileage (<22mpg) and the dreaded rev hang from day 1. I didn't statrt noticing any problems until after the break-in period. I've owned several manual transmission cars and I am really disappointed in how the throttle behaves on the Si. I cannot even downshift properly with this problem. If Honda cannot fix this problem, I may consider selling it.
