What symptoms do you have? I had that reflash done and I still get surging when the engine is cold. Now in the summer it doesn't do it as much as in the wintertime.

Yea during this past winter it was worse, summer isnt as bad but my car in 1st and 2nd gear bucks really hard on cold starts. Also, between shifts I get that annoying rev hang.

Yup, same here. I did have the update done to my car but it didn't make much of a difference. I think it has to do with the DBW system and they don't seem to have a permanent fix. After a couple of minutes it really doesn't do it anymore. At least not the bucking part.

You may want to give Hondadata a try. I heard that after the Hondadata reflash people don't experience those issues any longer. I just hate to spend 500+ bucks to find out if that solves the issue.

No that would be bogging

I don't have that issue. The only thing is when it is cold it likes to surge in first and second until it has about 3 bars on the temp gauge

I have a 2007 HFP/Navi and my vin falls into the range. I called Baron Honda in NY and I made an appointment for Wednesday the 27th of June. I'm pretty confident the TSB is for the "involved" VIN numbers and the model year is not as important. I'll keep you guys posted.

Do you have the 07 SI Sedan? I bought mine in Feb and I have the same problem! It bogs going into 3rd and 4th and it feels like its losing power (even if i mash the gas) or something, then it gets up and going again. I also expirience rev hang (all gears) and surging (first gear). If there is a reflash for this year I hope they will use it on my car. I hope that my SRI and TB Spacer/Heatshield Gaskets, and TB Coolant bypass isnt going to make Honda come up with some BS reason on why those mods are causing my surging, bogging, and rev hang. Other than that the car is great!

Anyone else have these problems?

I just bought an 07 Si Coupe this month and it has the rev hang in every gear. It was the first thing I noticed as soon as I shifted into 2nd when test driving the car leaving the lot but I didn't say anything about it at that time.
I don't notice any lurching in 1st gear, but all the standard trans hondas I drive have always lurched terribly in 1st if you bounce the throttle with your foot and I'm sorta permanently trained to eliminate this by the way I use the throttle in 1st.
The rev hang is terrible, makes you look like a 16 year old learning how to drive a standard, at every single intersection... of coarse now I shift completely differently by using the clutch to drop the rpm as soon as I shift (which is wearing the clutch faster but its the only way).
Anyway I'll run this by the dealer, and then when they act stupid I'll bring the printout of the service notice to them and see what they have to say. I'm sure they can't do anything about it since my car is an 07.

Yes, the rev hang is terrible. There are people who say it was fixed for '07, but that is incorrect. Some people even claim to like it! There are two ways to drive it: let the clutch take the abuse of slowing the revs down on upshifts (and look like an idiot when the car lurches on every upshift), or hold the clutch in for 1.5 to 2 seconds between upshifts waiting for the revs to drop. There is no excuse for any new car to have a driveability issue like this. It's especially frustrating when one drives other manual transmission cars regularly- none of which have this defect- and then have to switch back to the Si.

All I'm hoping for is that this is fixed for 2008 AND Honda issues the fix for the rest of us.

Are we to assume you went and had yours updated today? You didn't nothing anything? Better keep that to yourself...you're libel to upset the 2007 owners.

Print out the bulletin and immediately present it to the service department when you arrive. It'll speed up the process and eliminate the hassle.

Remember when you first bought your Si? After the flash update, it'll feel like that all over again.

They'll know whether it's been updated the moment they hook it up to the ECU device. No worries. Just do it!
