What is a K-Pro? Something like a Superchips Tuner? I doubt that they will come out any time soon if ever.

k-pro is not a reflash it is a user programmable ECU

http://hondata.com/kpro.html

and is out but does not support the 06+ Si as we have a completely different ECU + DBW ( ) and when/if it ever comes out the for the 06+ Si it probably won't be called K-pro anyways...

DBW sucks. It hinders more than it helps. Why did they ever come up with that crap?

That's no necessarily a good answer...dealers are known to vary widly on their "friendliness" towards modifications. Might be a good chance to find out for yourself and your dealer.

The Moss-Magnuson Act prohibits them from denying you service due to modifications not directly related to the issue. IE, they can't deny you a reflash if you put on different shocks. They COULD say, deny your blown motor fix since you put on a CAI and sucked up some water.

Know your rights guys.

hey guys, i just recently bought a 2007 civic si coupe and i have all the same problems that are stated in this thread. i took my car to dealership beacuse of this and they said that the new 07 civic si already came with the updated program and there was nothing i could do but to live with the problem....

this honestly makes the car not very fun to drive and makes it sound like i dont know how to drive a clutch. have any of you 06 guys that had these problems and got the reflash drove an 07?? basicly have you felt the same problems with the 07 si as you had with your 06?

2 different dealerships said it is normal beacuse of the drive by wire sytem they have in the car. but i have driven a few other cars with simular setups like say the new GTO and they dont do the same thing as our cars do.

any insight to this all?

Some of the work arounds to deal with are to short shift, basically get into 3 d quickly and be gentle on the throttle until you get some heat through the dash vents, not very long. Typically once you get two ticks on the temp guage it seems to abate at that point.
Otherwise you can idle in place but that's just wasteful. Some of it also is relearning a little bit, how to drive this car. But again that also is just a work around.

well, i have found some ways around it but when your actualy pushing the car to redline it sounds like it hits the rev limiter even though i am shifting before or right at 8k rpms. i have been racing cars for a long time and never had this problem with any of my other cars. i guess it is something that i really will have to deal with.

do you know if the hondata reflash takes care of this problem or not?

No idea on the Hondata option, out of my price range or interest for that matter, as I'm no doing any mods in the car, stuff like that.
I've noticed the once or twice I've put my foot in it to the redline "area" that the lite on the cluster seems to start flashing prior to 8K, I need to do it some more :)

Just a little aside that may make this seem like a honda safeguard...

A little ways back i knew someone who owned an '02 S2000. The car worked the same way till it warmed up a little. It had a rev limiter type function that kicked in around 5000 before there were two ticks on the temp guage and there was also a hesitation in first. According to the manual for the S2000 however, this was just a safeguard to make sure you weren't killing your engine before it got a chance to warm up.

Just a thought on why the 07's may be doing it too...

I had my car reflash Friday and I can't stress enough the improvements of the result. My car is running better and the hesitation is gone. I highly recommend this reflash.

I called several stealerships around San Diego and Ball Honda of National City was the only one that could help me. If you live in San Diego, call them @ (619) 474-6431 and speak with Henry on the service department. You'll be glad you did.
