I fall within the vin# range, and when I called them up today, they said they didn't know what i was talking about, and that my vehicle doesn't fall into any recall catagory. How can I go about getting the reflash done?

hey

I recently found out about this as well. I called the dealership yesterday and they told me the same thing. I replied that it wasn't a recall, but a service bulletin and told him the number which is 06-052. After I told him that it took about twenty seconds and he said: sure thing, we can do that for you. I made an appointment for this friday. can't wait.

You are not alone. I had the reflash done and I am not so much concerned with the rev hang which I don't mind so much as the
crappy surging/bucking when the engine is cold. Makes you look like and idiot that can't drive a stick for the first 5-10 minutes. I have to start out in 2nd gear and keep the rpms low until the engine has at least reached 3 bars on the temp gauge. Not that I want to race it or anything. I just don't want it to buck like a bronco on sterroids.

Here we go again....

It's a computer update by Honda which helps with the rev hang and the surging when the engine is cold. Mixed results. I had it done and there isn't any difference.

I have it; 07 Si Sedan. It's F'in awful in the morning. The rev's hanging I can kind of cope with, but the bucking prior to warm up is nearly intolerable. I have all the symptoms of the 06 service bulletin, but in an 07 car. If mine is as bad as I think it is, and the 06 was fixed to what I have now, I can't imaging what you 06 guys were going through.

Hey guys I have an 06 SI coupe. I havent been on here for a while and I am wondering if they came out with any other re flashes or recalls or anything. I am most concerned with the 06 SI's brakes. When u really need them and jack up it loses pressure and really scares me.

i only got 1 letter about a recall and it was about a SRS relay or something.

OK. i took mine to the dealer today to get the reflash. First off they had my car all damn day. I just show up because they never called me and they were about to close. They told me (in short) "I'm not sure if it worked because this is the first one we have done. We test drove it and everything looked fine to us" (i personal don't think they new what to look for in the first place)

My question is... what will the reflash do? I personally have not got to drive the car yet (my wife drives the car 85%of the time) but she told me that nothing feels different.

Now with the reflash are the PRM's suppose to drop immediately during shift or still hesitate?

i'll know more tomorrow after i drive it. but i just wanted to see what you guys said before i go calling Honda asking them if they even done anything (i really would not get an attitude until after the 2nd time)

do you have an 06 or 07, USMC? I thought this reflash applied only to 06's in a specified VIN range.

**Edit I see in your profile 06...n/m

My car was # 000832 and I can tell you, IT USED TO BANG ITS HEAD when iw as in first gear, especially when it was cold. It would JERK JERK JERK and then move, JERK, etc

I got it reflashed thanks to this thread, the DEALER test drove it and told me EVERYTHING was NORMAL, but I had them do the relash anyway... all I can say is the car is like NIGHT AND DAY NOW, it is completely better to drive and it is MUCH MUCH smoother in first gear, I can actually have it hang in traffic now up to 8k rpm without it jerking, it stays smooth through the entire rev range.

If you are in the VIN # specified, GET THIS DONE. I was the FIRST at my dealership to get this done. They said it was normal. I said it wasnt.
