Smallest Rims

What are the smallest size rims that you can fit on a si. Are 17 as low as you can go?

probably for drag radials or auto-x wheels. less weight..... just my $.02
although....you may want to stick with lightweight 17" for auto-x

Someone has 16" Motegi Tracklites on here, right? I think the main issue is with Caliper clearance.

I was kiddin.. its probably 16,, the callipers are pretty big no?
Could be 17 though.. why would si have 17" wheels and all of the rest have 16"? They havnt done this in the past right.. Si has always had the same size wheels.. or at least idk !

Well, people are having trouble with clearance from the 16" EX rims to the 17" Si rims due to the caliper rubbing against the wheel. I would imagine that the clearance is a little more forgiving in the Si.

I bought a set of Winter tires from my vet. They had to give me 17inch steelies because the 15 and 16 wouldn't fit. So I think smallest is 17

16" rsx-s (02-04) wheels would fit fine. weigh 5.5 lbs less each wheel and with the smaller diameter will add responsiveness and acceleration. as i work for Acura, the 02-04 rsx-s are just as fast as the 05-06 more powerful rsx-s because of the wheels alone. remember the 05-06 got shorter gearing, larger exhaust improving flow, larger intake duct and throttle and different cams with higher & longer lift. that is where the extra 10 hp came from but the wheel weight of larger diameter and width wheels sucked it all away. now the people autocrossing and racing are putting the smaller much lighter 02-04 wheels on are noticing a difference.

I'm not a fan of the smaller rim look...I'm all about 17's or 18's...anything bigger can get ridiculous

Smaller are better for the drag strip.

16" steelies do fit because I remember back in the winter time there was a member who had them mounted with snow tires. I believe he was from Ottawa, Ontario.

16" factory Honda rims do not clear the calipers though on the Si, so I believe it all depends on the construction of the rim itself.

I just bought some 16x7.5 +43 offset Kosei K1 Racing. I'll be mounting some Kumho Ecsta SPT 225/45-16 on there. Once I have them powder coated, mounted and balanced, I'll let you guys know if they rub.

LOL @ people that ask why go smaller. Ever hear of cutting down on unsprung weight?

You know not everything is about slamming your car and stuffing 19's under the wheel wells, some people actually care about performance.
