It is just a Honda. That means certain things, some good and some bad. Get over it.

Don't be knocking POS BMWs from the 90s. My previous car was and my next car will be a POS BMW from the 90s, then joined by a POS BMW from the 80s.

Oh yeah, e34 all the way. I used to have an e36 325i automatic, and always wondered if I'd have been happier in the e34 equivalent. Just for what I was using it for, the 5 would have been better. When I graduate (from college) I'll be in the market for an e36 M3, a Z3MCoupe, and/or an e30 M3. It'll depend on money and what I can find at the time, but those are exactly what I've been looking for.

The NSX will have to wait

I'm holding out for the next generation 1 series. Supposedly, BMW will be producing an actual 1tii off of the next chassis (too late for the current chassis). If that happens, then I don't know what I'm going to do.

The civic Si is an entry level sports car, as is the eclipse. Both cars have their strengths and weaknesses, but neither one is really better than the other. Some of those Eclipse's will smoke us, and then fall apart ... the Si is more FUN to drive imo, and that's what really matters to me.

Having driven the previous generation Eclipse, I'll agree that the Si is tremendously more sporty to drive. I disagree, however, in labeling the Si an entry level sports car. I consider and justify my Si as a sporty economy car. I have a hard time thinking of it as a any kind of actual sports car because of certain aspects of its layout and driving characteristics.

If you're looking at older models, there's also the GS-T and the GS-X, which are turbo 4cyls. The GS-X also has AWD.

To expand on the Rio. At least the Si isn't a 3-cylinder car. *AND* a diesel.

let's face it. The Si is just a Honda. Just like a 599 GTB Fiorano is just a Ferrari. Like an M15 is just a Noble. An M3 being just a BMW. Being the brand has different connotations, and with Honda, it's a fun to drive economical car. Besides, if you let it get to you, then it's like being a Laker fan. There's *always* some hating in every encounter.

i guess i'm the opposite

when i had the s2k - whenever someone asked me what kind of car I had, I just replied, "Oh I have a Honda" and leave it at that, unless they ask what kind of Honda.

with the Si, I just say I own a "Civic" and they're like, "hmmm ok"

why hide it??

If you would read you would see how they were 80's and 90 models, and saying how I have a bmw being a 95, I will call it shitty!

It really pisses me off, and they drive a 02 eclispe, its nothing special. What does honda have on mitsubishi? Any thought's or comments would be good... or this can just be a pointless thread.

edit: and the obviously dont know nothing cause they said that it was just a higher class honda, but its just a honda. Wouldn't an acura be a higher class honda?

I got so used to it.

When people ask me what I drive I respond, "oh nothing...just a honda."

convo usually ends...which is a good thing. Then they see me leaving with my s2k all loud and explosive.

I dont care what people think and I've learned the key to end those convo's quickly. Unless they drive a Honda...Im not talking to them about cars...b/c their opinion DNE to me.

but im always interest in a honda owners opinion...lol good or bad.

That's exactly what I do. People at work see my car and say, "Wow, what kind of car is that?" and I always respond with, "Oh, it's just a Honda Civic". My ego is not tied up in the type of car I drive. I could have bought anything I wanted for myself, but I chose an Si and I've never regretted it. The Si provides a great combination of performance, economy, and reliability and it's an absolute blast to drive...IMHO, of course.
