A question about Civic hybrid options
Hello,
I am looking to purchase a Civic hybrid in Alberta within the next two months and have a quick question. Honda offers the front, side, and rear skirts as options on the hybrid, but I am not exactly sure where I can find pictures of that. I understand that the hybrid is quite similar to the normal sedan, if not identical, but I'm quite new to Honda and the Civic in particular and am just having a difficult time finding a picture of one with the factory skirts. I also like what I've seen with the different replacements people have done, like the HPF and a couple others that I cannot remember. (One starts with an E I think.) If I go that route, would I just forego the factory skirts because the aftermarket pieces replace them? I'm sorry if these are real n00b questions. I've been going through the forums, especially the hybrid one, but would love to hear it from the horse's mouth, as it were. I am sure that I will have many questions before I purchase the car, so bear with me. :) |

The hybrid looks the exact same as any sedan from the outside apart from 3 notable differences: The side mirror lights, the wheels, and the badge. And so you can do any exterior modifications to a hybrid as you could to the sedan.
I have the HFP front, sides, and rear, and a mugen replica spoiler: duk's wicked HCHII (scroll to lower more recent pics) You can look in the Car Builds threads to see what exterior mods people have and see the pics of them: Car Builds - 8th Generation Honda Civic Forum You can probably get the full HFP kit installed in Alberta hybrid for 1300 - 1800 depending on how well you barter. Or you could drive your car down to the states and get one for under a G installed. I do have to warn you against buying a hybrid in Alberta though. I find that the harsh winters here really do damage on my fuel efficiency. Basically your car needs to be a certain temperature to get some of the electric components working. The problem is that in the cold winter your car will probably not even hit the needed temperature unless you're driving it for a long time, at least that's what i found. I recommend you get an EX or if you can afford it, a Tesla Roadster. ![]() Last edited by duk; 07-08-2008 at 09:01 PM. |
