Even though they are one of the most "expensive" models, they are a bit like an LX. No rear disc brakes, no moonroof, but big clunky alloys. I never understood why they didn't put rear disc brakes on the hybrid.

What is the most important thing for having rear disc brakes? Extra-short stopping distances and/or compensating for a heavier vehicle; A feature for the driver who wants a sportier ride; Something for owners that are prepared to spend more in servicing costs. The wheels and tires on the Civic Hybrid are comparable to the DX. Clearly, the Civic Hybrid is positioned for economical driving, not the extra thrill of turning corners at high speed. Besides, the brakes have to work in tandem with the stopping power of the generator.

BTW, in Canada, the DX-G has adopted the "pie plates" from the Hybrid for 2008. They have a strikingly fresh look on some of the Civic colours. I think the best use of them so far are with an Atomic/Neutron blue body.

*UPDATE* So I didn't get the Mugens. But I got these instead. And now I'm back to 40mpg.

Sweet! Those are exactly the wheels I've been thinking about putting on my TW Hybrid. Are those the 18x7.5's or the 18x8's?

They are 17x7. if you go 18s your Mpg will take a huge hit. With these i'm getting an average of 45mpg!

Yeah, I was planning on getting the 17's for that very reason, but I thought you said you were getting 18's since you already had the tires.

Anyways, I'm assuming you got the 42mm offset? And did you end up going with a 215/45 tire... they look smaller than that for some reason.

Also, how did you deal with the TPMS sensors? Did you swap them to the new wheels, leave them out, have the dealer reprogram, etc?

Any plans on lowering it? That's my goal if I can round up the funds. I think it'll look bawls IMO.

sorry about that, I just got new tires and put the 18's on another car.

I just left them off until I have to buy new tires then i'll put them back on.

I think it'll look sweet too.

Hope you don't mind me using your photo. I'm no expert with photoshop, but here's kinda what I'm shooting for.

I've already cleared the lights, and put HID's in... I just need the rims and the drop.
