Best value on Hybrids...

OK guys...I'M SOLD!!

I am a soon to be hybrid owner *crosses finger* I'm in the process of looking for a good deal for a new/used honda hybrid but absolutely hate the car buying process..

Few questions:

How much did everyone get their hybrids for under sticker? I'm from Texas but knowing the average around the states would be helpful!

Should I buy a used 07' hybrid instead of a brand new one?
I've seen some going for around 19k with 12k miles or less worth it or not?

Thanks in advance everyone!!

Thats awesome news! Good to see that there are more people interested in hybrids. I paid 23 in CT for an 07 with navi. I've heard people have paid less but the deals vary. I hear alot of dealerships are having great sales now so i'm sure you can get a pretty good deal. As for the year, It doesn't really matter. However, I would suggest an '08 for better trade-in value down the line.

i say take the cheap 07 as opposed to the full priced 08, screw the resale value down the line, you will save more now than then.

I got mine ('07 new) for $22,500 and it was w/Nav but no other options. OTD w/tax, title, fees & extended warranty was $26.1k (24k after tax credit).

Unless you want the required tire pressure management system (TPMS), go for the '07. I'm not even sure what TPMS does other than alert you if your tires are grossly under/overinflated which you should be able to tell by looking at them and from driving anyway.

I got a new 2007 with navi for $22,400 + TTL. You can only get the tax credit if you buy new. If you buy used you will not get the tax rebate. So, definately go new if you qualify for the tax credit.

TaX credit has dropped in half to $1,050 as of January 1st of this year. You could always buy my '07 civic hybrid for $17,500!!! 17k miles Galaxy Grey.

"...I couldn't find it anywhere."

Umm have you heard of google?

Well, considering the tax credit is from the irs... Why not go to the IRS web site and search for hybrid.

Best bet for getting some real savings would be to buy a few year old, just make sure it's still the HCH II and you should be good. I paid $16k for my accord hybrid as a 2005 january this year, which reflects 1/2 of retail. I am getting 35 mpg on the highway, compared to my wife's 38 mpg highway in her HCH II (but it is still breaking in, getting ready for the first oil change)
