To the OP, I think I am going to wait on the Hybrid until Lithium Ion batteries are used in Hybrids or just go full electric.
I don't care how well it sells as long as I get one. It will serve me well as a daily driver.

She remembers her big block Chevel SS that got 10 mpg. and knows she had a part in developing the problem. Seems many americans can't point the finger at themselves and deal with it.
Hey, I can completely understand that type of love for your car.
So she and you kept the the other car and didn't buy the hybrid... I don't see that as making a good life choice but I not mad at anybody, I've got stock in crude so...

We have to pay, the prices aren't going to go down anytime soon. Or will they? Back in the eighties the same thing happened gas prices went up, more fuel efficient cars were made, some people bought them, most didn't, then the prices went down, We did not see the signs that it would happen again and started driving SUV's(and cars of the like). Buying a Hybrid isn't this gigantic deal everyone is making it out to be. It's just a more fuel efficient car. If you like the car, buy the car. Remember it's just a car.

We gotta make a change...
It's time for us as a people to start makin' some changes.
Let's change the way we eat, let's change the way we live
and let's change the way we treat each other.
You see the old way wasn't working so it's on us to do
what we gotta do, to survive.
