Anyone with a subwoofer in the trunk?

I'm thinking of installing 1 - 8in sub without a box along side with the stock speakers without cutting any metel. The trunk is small already. Has anyone done this or similar? Please any feed back would be good. Thanks.

I have a 10" infinity sub in my trunk, it is in a box though. Don't know how much that helps you. it hasn't caused me any problems and sounds great! I thought that the EX had a 8" hole for the sub, but i thought our hybrids didn't. Could be wrong about that.

I'm in the same situation as you because I need trunk space! I haven't done my install yet, but almost there.

I found some fiberglass enclosures that fit on the side of the trunk, so this might help:

Solara Systems

The only bad thing about this one is that it seems pretty small for a ported box.

Bassforms

Aw crap I clicked the hybrid forums by accident...lol

I ended up buying...

I ended up buying 8 inch Pioneer Shallow (free air)subwoofer from ebay(see below). I had a 10 inch JL Audio, but it cannot fit underneath next to the stock speakers. I need the space for the baby stuff and stroller that's why. The BMW 135i due in May is our non-baby car.
