Wheels look better on the kitchen floor than they did on their website. Now I'm actually looking forward to getting mine in in a few days. Congrats on being the first to get them!

Because that's illegal dude. If they had fixed it right away, that'd be one thing. But they had it up over a day.. one guy ordered 24 of these. THAT should've red flagged it, but yet they kept it up. In fact, people were posting up the email they were getting that it was a pricing error after I had already ordered. They knew the problem was there and kept it up. That, my friend, is illegal.

Also I believe the Discount Tire local to me is run by a bunch of greedy pricks.. so my sympathy on this matter is null.

lol. this reminds me of a few weeks ago when aspec had a **** up on their website. they listemd many volk wheels at a rediculously low $1.00 each. obviously a mistake, but i still tried to order a set of wheels. $4 + shipping for a set of 18" re30's was too good to pass up...too bad they cancelled my order. i thought about calling an attorney for this considering it could be well worth the 2k in savings....but oh well.

Look at this email that I just got from them. They said that only one set was shipped. There are at least 2 or 3 sets sold to members on here?

Pricing Policies - Discount Tire Direct

Brian,

It would be unfortunate to lose your business over this instance. This was an obvious pricing error and was in no way meant to mislead you.
After some research, one order was shipped before we caught this mistake and that customer got an unheard of deal, but we reserve the
right to suspend these sales due to pricing errors and once this was realized that is what happened.

If you would like to discuss this further, please contact our Customer Care department at 1-800-589-6789.

you probably won't win a lawsuit over a mistake, you can try but all they have to do is prove that they had no intention to mislead. it'll be in tort iirc so the evidence is weighed 50/50... mistakes are common in business, especially with bigger businesses and making an error is not a crime (especially since the buyer was not charged)... now if they did this with intent to sell you something else or sell you something for more money then that is a bait and switch and that is illegal

I really don't see how there intent wasn't to mislead when they had this up for an entire day, with tons and tons of orders. How do they not notice someone buying 24 of these? I'm irked because people were getting the emails stating the price was wrong after I placed my order, yet they kept it up. How is that not misleading? I still stand by what I said, this is illegal. And since I really don't like discount, I'll pursue it a bit more

its not illegal. in court, you're going have to prove that they mislead the public in order to turn a profit and in this case i think they've actually lost money.

Actually it is illegal.. it's called "offer and acceptance". I put in my order (my offer) and they accepted it. That right there is a contract. If this was legal, don't you think Walmart would put a big screen tv in there ad for $50 and then once 100s of people were already in their store to buy it, say it was a 'pricing error'? Of course not, because it's illegal and it's illegal for good reason.

its not illegal and it does happen with department stores from time to time. Your order was accepted because it is automated, your card may have been placed as pending but the funds did not go through yet.

Your logic is good man, but in the in the end trust me they protect their asses until payment is recieved. I am sure there is a clause or terms and conditions that state this.

If this was the case, don't you think you'd see walmart from time to time doing what I said above? Advertising a false price and then not honoring it once you were in the store? There's a law on this for a reason!

its not illegal because $10.00 was not the offer, it was a miskey ($100.00 miskeyed by one zero). they need only prove that it was a mistake and never intended to be an offer. furthermore, they did not process payment.
