Resale Value of an '06 Hybrid

Hi all. I had a quick question. Anyone know how the resale value is doing on the '06 Hybrids? It might be too early to tell, but I have had some things come up that might make it so mine is on the market soon.

Thanks,

Michael

Just a quick update, I went by Carmax today and they offered $19,500. My Hybrid is white with Nav. Not a great number but $2,000 higher than the dealer I bought it from . Oh well, thinking about it now. Now I have to figure out if the aftermarket 15" wheels I bought for it will sell for more than the original hybrid wheels.

KBB Trade in in Fair condition is 19,500, good 21,700 and excellent is 23,000. Like everyone I would like more, but so far the 2 Honda dealers I've gone to have offered 17,500. And since you can buy a new one for about $23,000 and get a $2100 tax credit = 20,900, I think it's a somewhat fair price for them to offer. Unless I get a better offer in the next few days, I think it will probably be going to Carmax

Have you thought about selling it private market?

You'll get more for it.

Definitely thought about it, but from above it looks like if someone bought it at the Carmax price they would only be saving about $1,400. So I don't think I would be able to get much more (well without feeling bad).

But hey if someone offers I probably wouldn't turn it down.

The reason I am looking to sell it is I just bought another car (Chrysler Crossfier SRT-6) and have had some things come up at work that will make it so I can't keep both.

I went to a Nissan dealer to look at Nissan Muranos. When we talked number I asked how much he would give me for my hybrid...I wasn't going to trade it in. I just wanted to know how much I could get for it. They appraised it and said $19,000 with a big scuff on the front bumper and that was with little haggling on my car. I have a non-navi model. It has 10,000 miles on it. But, I am sure I could get at least $19,500 for it. They called Honda dealers since they would be selling that car to them. With the tax credit and tax savings on a new car I would make out pretty good. So, I am sure you can get more for it. You will be better off selling it on your own. It also depends on the market...it you are in Cali or some place that has hov lane incentives you will definately get more.
