Quick question on taking off

Hi, I have a quick question, is it normal if you have to start from a stop sign or ligh briskly for the RPM's to jump up before the transmission engages? I assume it's normal, but I wanted to ask. Even when I take off normally, it does this to an extent, do you know if I should be worried about it hurting the car?

Thanks,

Michael

Sounds like your pressing the gas faster then the moter can engauge from a stop/off position. Try letting your foot off the break for a second and then apply the gas.

I usally allow my self 1 sec after taking my foot off the break then aplying the gas. If the moter seems to catch quickly I will apply more gas faster else I will aplly less gas allowing the moter to catch the cycle.

I think wrxsti03 is correct. When you come to a stop, your RPM's drop to 0, then back up to idle when you take your foot off the brake. Try waiting a second for the engine speed to get back to normal before hitting the gas.
