Since the technology is fairly new what made you guys/girls select Honda over a Toyota (aside that the Prius is funny looking but gets better mileage)?
Hi DNieves, here in the portuguese forum www.hibridosclube.pt.vu we don't have that, all of us are there to help and to share knowledge about the HCH, how to improve mileage, etc....
Why don't you visit us, we have a section in Inglish for those who don't understand portuguese, there you can share your knowledge with us

Thanks!
I changed my wheels to 18" BBS RK's that weigh approx. 18lbs. When I was commuting with traffic and really concentrating on being efficient, I lost an average of 2-4 mpg. On long trips or open traffic, it was as bad as 7-9 mpg less.

Given the the big difference and some stuff going on with my "project" car (finally upgrading the turbos on my S4 wagon), I mounted the stockers back on...I immediately felt a difference in acceleration and was returning back to 45+ mpg. Of course, she no longer looks as good

Interesting transition, from E55 to Civic Hybrid, what made you change?

Hey. I've been lurking around here for a while. I know a few of you from greenhybrid.com. For those of you civic hyrbid drivers who haven't checked that out, I suggest you do.
Anyways, here are some shots of my white 07 HCHII:

(brand new, no mods)

(side view, after hybrid emblem installation)

(xenon HID headlamps)

(under the hood, covers removed)

(left light stock, right light HID; under the right light you can see my Hella Supertone horns)

(someone said they wanted more pix of the inside, the only ones I have right now are from when the sprinklers got my car back in August)

I hope these help. If anyone wants pix of specific components, just let me know!

Something I just do not understand about Honda and why I thought this immediately upon looking at this thread is beyond me.

At what point did Honda say, "We're going to tone the Civic down for the U.S. American's won't like the Asian and Canadian design."? I'll be honest, I don't like four doors on anything really and there isn't Hybrid on the road I'd be caught dead in just because of personal taste. Now If they made the Hybrid look like the CSX and Asian Civic, I'd definitely jump ship. Make it a special edition. Like, "Save the planet and look dead sexy typeRish while ya do so."

I'm not slamming hybrids by any means. In some weird, round about manner, I feel the sedans (R18 and K20 powerd) are too sedated too. Maybe it's just me. I do have strange taste. I prefer the Euro 3 door over the FG2 still.

Maybe I'm alone on this one too though, I love it when Hybrid owners mod their cars such as wheels, tint, other fun appearance stuff. It shows you may be green and all but your funky green!

The Insight? I loved that little thing. It sort of reminded me of a del Sol.

I would totally drive a CR-Z. Now that is what I'm talking about. They need to stop waiting and just make it.
