it could be a number of reasons...you may need an oil change, or your tire pressure may be low, also it could be the road conditions especially in winter. It could simply be the gas your filling up with. Some Petro stations offer "winterized" gas to help avoid gas line freeze etc. Anyways check your fluids I know on mine when my oil gets grimy and hits the 40% mark on the gauge cluster my fuel mileage starts to take a big hit.

my oil is @ 70%, tire air was filled month ago, i'm @ orange county, so cal.. top notch road here... however i did fill up my gas from 76 other day instead of costco gas where i usually get.. i always thought costco gas is cheap arco so shouldn't i get better mpg since i filled the tank from 76??? i don't see brand gas making difference in 6 mpg.

I live in FREEZING Illinois and I am only getting 33-35. Should I be worried? I just bought my hybrid a couple week ago. Is this just because it is cold?

I am getting like 29 right now in -30 weather and 2 feet of snow. I wouldn't worry about it.

From the poll in this thread > Civic Hybrid: Your Gas Mileage it looks like the average is in the low-mid 40's for mpg.

Threads like this are why Honda it ditching IMA in smaller vehicles in favor if developing its own copy of the Toyota/Ford technology.

People are dumb. They don't consider the factors that might contribute to killing mpg which is probably acceleration, hills, weather, tires, etc...

People just want a car that gets 40+ driving it like an a*shole. And the Prius can deliver that. The Civic/Insight can't.

weird. I get about 35-37 on average out of my 96 civic CX lol.

I was able to pull 33 on the highway in my 350z pretty easy while cruising 65-70. I would hope the hybrid could do better than that.
