Civic SI Hybrid

think there might be a future for this? or maybe a battery powered SI? I think Tesla needs more competition

The tesla goes from 0-60mph in less than 4 seconds. It does the quarter mile in 12.7 seconds. It weighs around 2700lb and it's also rwd.

a battery powered SI = tesla competition?

No thanks, I dont even own a Si, but im sure it will just ruin the car's feel and there will be no point on spending more money to buy a Si.

It's also heavier and slower than the gasoline powered Lotus it's based on, and the batteries easily overheat. They also don't get anywhere close to their advertised range when you drive it remotely aggressively.

the IMA Motor and Battery add up about 20hp, so that will boost the Si to 217hp, not bad.

yeah but theres no sayings its a hybrid... yet. they claim it might be a diesel hybrid but i cant see it happening.. regardless, when the crz comes out.. i'll prob drop my civic and get one. looks pretty badass.. well the concept atleast..
