had the rear control arms replaced

As most of you know about the rear upper control arm issue, I had them replaced last week under warranty. I only have 13k miles on the car and 2 of the tires are cupped and feathered. It is very very noisy going down the road. I knew the tires were bad last week when the Service Adviser told me the tires would need to be replaced even with the minimal miles. He told me Honda would prorate them so I called American Honda and voiced my concerns. Today, the dealer called me and told me Honda will replace 2 of the tires.

The dealer wants $120 per tire for the other 2. Tirerack has them on sale for $53 so Discount Tire price matched the ad. I just don't understand because Discount had them retailing for $110 and they thought Tirerack had an incorrect ad. Discount had to order them directly from Continental but they still honored the $53 price, + the shipping and tax and I will pay for the mounting and balancing.

I guess I have been lucky running the higher pressure because the tires still have 7/32 of tread left. I will keep the 2 good tires as spares and Honda will take the ruined ones. On greenhybrid I have read where people were only getting 10-20k miles on the tires and then they were shot because of the control arms.

so what is up with the hybrids? mine looks like it has very bad camber issue. i mean visually my rear wheels look very much like this / \ . this shows in the tires too although not as much as you would expect by how they look visually. and this is stock from the factory. im looking into gettin skunk 2 camber kit to fix the problem. so if anybody has some feedback on the skunk 2 camber kit let me know. i just dont have the time and energy to go to the dealer and try to explain to them that this issue is not normal and for them to try convincing me that that's how it is supposed to be.

This is a know issue in the Hybrid and there is a TSB out for this problem. As long as you are under 36k miles or 4 years, the dealer should replace the rear control arms and do an alignment.
