Brake fluid

I took advantage of a free service clinic today and according to the tech I need to replace both the CVT fluid & brake fluid. I'll use a DIY for the CVT fluid but I couldn't find one for brake fluid. Is changing the brake fluid a job easily done solo?

*Sorry if there's a thread already. Couldn't locate off the DIY index.

Almost 70,000.

The tech said the fluid was dark colored. I'm guessing that's bad. (Brake Fluid)

So I guess then a brake fluid is a dealer only job? They want $125 for it.

I don't think it's a dealer-only service. And according to your owner's manual, you're suppose to change every 3 years.

if u got a vaccum bleeder then ur good to do it urself

all the dealership does is change our the fluid and put new fluid back in..they suck out all the fluid out of ur reservoir, open a new brake fluid bottle and turn it upside down into the reservoir, lift the car up and starting from the back they suck the brake fluid out of each bleeder valve for a few seconds each wheel.

now u lost $125 for a job that took about 20-25min when they charged u 1hr for that brake flush job

I was at the dealer today for some coolant and was asking about bleeding the brakes. He said it is not the same process as with traditional brakes but would not elaborate. I think he was just trying to get me in for service (car has 115,000 miles and has only been in the dealer for a recall a few years ago).
Has anyone bled theirs? is is similar to other cars?

It's the same thing. The sequence is not traditional though. You're usually supposed to start from the RR wheel, but i dont think that's true for our cars. I cant remember off the top of my head what the sequence is.

Start from the front-left, then clock-wise.
