2010 Civic Hybrid Fold Down Seats?

does anyone know whether or not the 2010 Civic Hybrid will have fold-down seats?

No 2010 Honda Civic Hybrid will have that - the 2010 Honda Insite (hybrid only) will have that.

The engine is the same size but the IMA is half as powerful so it needs less battery space. that is why the seats can fold down.

I wish they had a larger IMA by 20 HP in the Civic so that passing wasn't so much fun. Guess the regenerative braking would stop it dead with that much extra power.

If the 2010 Insite sell well and the 2009 Civic Hybrid continues it poor sales, there might not be a 2011 Civic Hybrid. Honda is looking for projects to kill, I bet the Civic Hybrid is higher then the Ridgeline on the death list ( like the S2000 is dead, the V-8 is dead, the Accord Hybrid is Dead )

It is too bad Honda did not put a 2.4L in the Accord Hybrid instead of the gas hungry V-6 that would have been the right size. the 1.3L in the Civic Hybrid is acceptable wish the IMA was a little larger.

Hybrids suck, no offence to anyone in here.
basically, they make low hp, carry way to much extra weight, cost more, have much more complicated drivetrains, and only get better milage in the city. Also, it sucks to have different speeds depending on how fully the battery is charged.
I think the only good thing about hyrbids, are that its new technology, its quiet, and its green. Other then that, ill take a diesal anyday.

I can appreciate your opinion, however the facts don't fully agree with you.

There's not a diesel in the US market that can seat 4 comfortably and get both 40+ mpg city and 45+ mpg highway.

I paid a $2500 premium over a comparable EX w/Nav for my '08 model, and got $1050 of it back as a tax credit.

According to Honda's website, the EX automatic weighs 2831 lbs and the Hybrid weighs 2877 lbs.

The battery charge in the Civic has nothing to do with how fast the vehicle will go. Its typical operation only supplements acceleration and maintains vehicle speed when driving at a steady pace.

I'll concede they're not for everyone though...just like pickups, SUVs, and minivans aren't for everyone.

It probably will not. The Honda Insight will have both of these so they will probably kill the Civic Hybrid before upgrading it.

Folding seats are in the Insight-II and will also come in the Fit hybrid next year.

The Civic Hybrid will take the flagship position since anything larger isn't suited for IMA mating. (At least according to Honda)

It will be VERY unlikely that there will be a Fit Hybrid. The 2010 Fit and the 2010 Insight are almost the same size so they would be overlapping the same market. Also when you compare a possible Fit Hybrid to the new Insight you would run into the issues that the Civic Hybrid has the biggest of which is were to put the batteries without clogging up the cargo space.

"May 2008"

That was written almost a year ago. Show me something that has been written since the Insight was announced and I'll believe it.

Well, Honda did not say anything about a Fit hybrid at the Detroit Auto Show back in January and that's when they were showing off the Insight.

According to the Honda boss the Fit hybrid is coming either alongside or right after the CRZ.

Honda?s Fukui says no to cheaper Insight hybrid - Automotive News

Quote:
Separately, Fukui said Honda is developing a hybrid drivetrain for large cars. Its recent push into hybrids has centered on small vehicles, such as the Insight. Next year Honda is launching the CR-Z sporty hybrid and following that with a hybrid version of the Fit.
