Need some friendly advice.

i bought a 2008 Magnetic Pearl hch non nav in june of this year. I am thrilled with the car it does everything it said it would do. I now have 3500 miles on it and have averaged 40.6 from the start. here is my dilema, we really didnt need another car. i kinda got caught up in the hype of 4 dollar a gallon gas and wanted a car that got no less than 40mpg. i am from Oklahoma couldnt even find a car in the state finaly found one in Frisco TX and paid msrp, plus bought gap ins. my wife is really not happy with the payment. I have seen dealers charging 2 to 3k over invoice for this car in the 5 state area, and was wondering what my chances are of getting at least msrp for the car. i know that i would have to eat some money, but you know the old saying when the wifes unhappy. We own an 03 expedition, 04 harley ultra , 05 pt conv. and a 89toyota pickup that i used to use for work. all theses are paid for. so you see why she said we didnt need another car. We have been married for 25yrs and would kinda like to keep going another 25 or so.

Looking at your selection of vehicles, I wonder why not get rid of the PT (if it's nice enough to put the top down, take the Harley!) and also get rid of either the Expedition or the pickup. Either one will be capable of hauling whatever you need - seems redundant to keep both.

This way, you'll have a Harley for the sunny days, a truck for hauling stuff, and an economy car to keep the greedy gas companies out of your pockets. Use the money from the sale of those vehicles and maybe refinance what's left on the Civic. That should drop the payment a bit.

All that said, from some of the outlandish prices I've seen on used Civic's lately (even non-Hybrid models) you could probably get close. Good luck!

nice color choice! thats my color too!
keep the civic and sell all others... then buy a prius or the new honda hybrid. then u'll have 2 gas sipper, 1 of them can haul stuff thanks to its hatchback utility.

I cant belive you would keep the PT over a civic. Those are a horrible car, and i know, i have to drive one for work quite often.

What about the reply about the SI? From what I can read... the OP is asking if he should get rid of his hybrid or one of his other vehicles.

Its only temporary, it will go back up as soon as OPEC cuts production again. They liked $125 a barrel oil.

If not OPEC, Congress will raise the gas tax by 100% to pay for road improvements. They know we can pay $2.75 a gallon now.

now that we have a tax happy president coming we can expect to see the "little taxes" go through the roof. $.12 here, $.18 there, it'll all add up to the lower middle class staying renters forever.
