MT, Clutch- Sedan vs Coupe

Had a chance to drive a buddies EX coupe the other day and I noticed that his clutch was wayy springy-er than the one on my LX sedan. Also his gearbox shifts tons smoother and quicker than mine. He had a little over 5K miles and I'm at 1300K. Is the differences just the nature of coupe since it's sportier or just the luck of the draw? Or maybe is there something I should checkout on my first maintenance?

Well, it could be that his is more broken in than yours. Also he might have modified a few things also. Just ask.

But I don't understand what you mean by it shifting "quicker" as you are the one who determines the speed of the shift.

But both tranny's are the exact same. Give it a bit and see if it breaks in.

He hasn't modded anything....and by shifting quicker I mean that I can shove it in gear much faster than mine and the whole thing felt light. I got slight notchiness which I'm gonna complain about when I take it in for an oil change. Also I have slight resistance with the stick in general. My buddies was seamless, I just threw it into gear and went right in. I guess we're kinda opposites...his shifter is light but the clutch was heavy and I got the heavy stick with soft clutch.

Oh ok.. Hmm not sure. But I understand what you are saying now.

I've modded my shifting components and now I've got a bit of difficulty going into second which I've always had, but everyother gear is easier to get into and slides in nicely. Although I've been in someone elses car and noticed theirs was even smoother than mine.

Take it in and see if they can maybe tighten/loosen the shifting cables. If that works then send me a message. I'll be doing that too if that's the problem.
