Speaking for the Civic Hybrid, I have had no problems so far in 10 months of ownership. I watched the recalls database and consciously chose to not buy in during the first year of the model's life. With Honda's ethic of continuous improvement, I can be confident that most issues will be permanently worked out during that time. The same can be said of Toyota. The Hybrid model is a very quiet car with road noise being the most noticeable contributor, and even that is benign. It is also an upgrade in some respects to its luxury features. |

I would say that a lot of money will guarantee you that panel gaps are perfect and that the fit and finish are well done, but it is a known fact that super-exotics are very needy in servicing. Even a luxury brand like Mercedes-Benz gets the honour of having the worst track record in Consumer Reports reliability ratings.
JD Power doesn't have the super-exotics in their dependability ratings, but they do list a number of premium sporty cars that should easily be in the low six-figure price range. See for yourself how they stack up. Those who spend that degree of money on a car don't really care about reliability and are prepared to do whatever it takes to maintain them. The reward is the exclusivity, and a few other things. Heck, some elite MB owners would keep theirs for only the first year and roll-over to the latest and greatest. They don't care about loss of depreciation but they don't want to deal with the expected electrical failures that plague European imports after the first year. |

I have an 07 EX coupe. My car had rattles and the brakes squeeked towards the end of winter. Now all of those problems have dissappeared. My only problem is the mileage. I'm supposed to get 35 city. I took it slow for a week, keeping the revs low, staying in the right lane, and I saw barely any difference and got like 27mpg. I usually get 25mpg when I drive it hard.

Yes.
I may be wrong, but I've heard from several people that the reason it changed is because the government cracked in due to high fuel costs and made them post the actual miles per gallon rating rather than upping it just a bit. Of course, these were just a few random people so the information could be incorrect. |

I have an 07 civic lx... the fabulous r18. I have had it since April 1st of 07. I have changed the oil twice. Thus far it averages 5200 miles an oil change. I use synth mobil 1 with the recommended weight and a matching mobil 1 oil filter. I buy gas at costco 87. The engine never knocks. I am an average driver. I live in Arizona and the temp right now on average is 95+ during the day. My car does not rattle, my seats are comfortable, I drive mainly in the city and I go about 390-410 miles a tank of gas. I have not had any chipping or fading problems with my paint. The way I think about all of the problems and whatnot with peoples cars. I just say this, 80 percent operator and 20 percent vehicle. If your bumper is all chipped up from rocks. Stop tailgating the guy infront of you. all you need to do is just take care of your car. The little things help the most.
