Still love my car after 2 years!!
Well, I celebrated 2 years of ownership in March and all I can say is, "I am so glad I got this car!" Nothing is more satisfying that after a hard days work, walking out to your car and saying to yourself, "YES, this is mine!"
The Car: 2006 LX Sedan Atomic Blue Metallic Mileage: 19100 Mods: The first thing I did was to get rid of the hubcaps in favor of 17" Enkei rims with Falken tires. Completely changed the look of the car. It went from run of the mill Honda Civic LX that everybody has on the street to look at that one! The second thing I did was to change out all the taillight, and interior bulbs to LED. I absolutely love the look! The third thing I did was to install an Injen CAI. I don't really care about the HP aspect because the car was designed as a fuel efficent vehicle and not a SI. I wasn't trying to fool myself. However, The sound that my car makes now is so good! My roommate commented to me once when he heard me take off down the road is that it didn't sound like a Honda (i.e.- a fuel efficient, 140hp, economy car). The fourth thing I did was to debadge the rear. Much cleaner looking in my opinion! Exterior: I don't have any complaints here. I went out and looked at my cars paint. The only place I have rock chips is on the bumper. I don't have any rock chips on my hood! My car has the usual nicks and scratches from other peoples bad driving. I have to give the paint high marks only because this is an economy car after all. If I wanted better, thicker, higher quality paint job, then I'd get an Accord! Interior: The interior is where I start to have some problems. The drivers and passenger door armrests and center console are starting to show some age. The fabric is fading on the edges. The plastic really does scratch easily. The area around the bottom of the door ahead of the doorsills are a mess. I try to not hit that area when I'm getting in and out, but it stills seems to attract my foot. My seat fabric is great! I have seatcovers. Backseats look great since I don't haul more than one other person! Engine: No problem here. If you want more HP, then get an SI! I'm getting great gas mileage. I can't complain here. I think I would get even better mileage, if I didn't have a trunk spoiler. I feel it disrupts the flow of air over the car and creates drag. It might be that I have a CAI, I just don't know. All I know is that I would hate to have any other car right now with gas prices going up and up. 4cyl FTW!!! Transmission: No problems here either! Well, that concludes my review. I hope that this review helps someone who is thinking about getting a Civic. It is a great car and I would recommend it to anyone!! ![]() -Clay |

I filled up today. It cost me $35 for 9.5 gallons. I eared an all new respect for my car. Today marks the longest I've ever owned a new car. It's not going anywhere any time soon. I made that decision at a Chevron station where it was $3.709 for 93 Octane.
I understand your love. It's nice isn't it.

I've been meaning to ask the R18 owners on this site what they like and dislike about their automatic.
I love my Si, but I am thinking of downgrading to an EX-L but I can't decide whether to go automatic or manual. I'm a bit tired of rowing my own gears in the big city, but how is the automatic in the car?

The last car I loved this much was my first personally owned car and honda, my 92 Accord sedan LX I named "Aeris" after a character in FF7. I miss that car to this day after that old woman rear ended me and took Aeris away from me.

The thing is, while I like the power when I need it/want it, I don't hardly ever use the Si's power.
I have a rental Aveo right now, and that thing puts out 103 horsepower. While the pick up sucks, for 95% of what I need, it's fine. I don't need a sports car right now. I need a fun-to-drive car that gets decent gas mileage. The Si was that, but premium prices are way too much, and I want navigation and leather.
