Sunday upgrade (pics).....

Had a busy day but it was worth it. I had a complete set of Focal's. A component set (6.5's & tweeters) and a pair of 5.25 coaxials. I kept my factory HU (for now) and used a Scosche output converter FAI3A (line out converter). Worked like a charm for my 4 channel setup. Highly recommended!! Here are some pics :

Hid the LOC behind the passenger seat area....

Mounted my JL Audio amp on the back of the seat. Left enough room for the wiring so when it folds there isn't a problem....

Folded down...

The only thing I could recommend someone running their own wiring into the doors is to use a tiny bit of dawn dishsoap to lube the wires. The new wire will slide into the harness much easier!!

Thanks..! It was a lot of work but well worth it. Sounds insane compared to the factory stuff!

it seems like a lot of people are talking about focals lately. Must be good.

I had them in my '91 MR2 Turbo but now that I'm selling it they aren't gonna go with it.... too much money and it won't raise the value much (not that much anyway). Thought about selling them but said what the hell last night and picked up a wiring kit to put them in today...

The passenger is behind the kick panel and the drivers is above the plastic guard (above the pedals).

Thanks. I've read here on the boards people commenting on how the tweeters would be a pain because of the location in the corners. They were absolutely a breeze to install..! Once you pop off the covers there is a whole big enough to stick your hand down (damn near anyway)... Just slipped the tweets in the factory covers and dropped the wires... Remember my dish soap trick if you are gonna run new wires through the doors factory rubber grommets. It really works!

i'm thinking of just cutting a hole in the grill, and use the flush mount that comes with the tweeters, but i think it might look odd, so idk yet
i dont want to glue mine in

Same here. Grilles just did not look right to me. I actually siliconed them in. Why not do that?
