New wheels for my LX & snow tires off :)

Last night, I took off my snow tires and swapped on my GSA's with my new konig brightlite rims. They look pretty awesome to me, and man the car handles so much better without the snow tires. It's hard to compare directly whether the weight savings helps the handling since the snow tires and all seasons are so much different. One thing for sure is the GSAs are a lot quieter.

(the new rims weigh ~15-16lbs - i weighed them but forgot exactly what it was)

I'll take some pics and post them. And yeah, my car needs a drop and the rims are tiny (16 inch rims). lol.. i like them and i'm not going to have to swap on and off my snow tires anymore. :)

Spring!! I'm gonna have to take the car for a drive!

ok took awhile pics:

oh yeah and there's my dog.

and please no comments about lowering, narrow rims, etc.. I know. I couldn't spend the money on 17 inch rims w/ new tires. These cost like 450$.

Greg, I think a good wash, wax and some Tire Foam will make your car much more presentable.

Your rims are fine, you get to look stylish while avoiding having a rough/stiff ride and less mileage as a result from huge ass 18'-19" rims

ha, yeah, the car just got back from a wash. The story with this vehicle is that my wife crashed it a few times, so going whole hog with 17 inch rims, etc wasn't going to happen. then i'm a grad student and spending 1200 bucks on rims and tires is just too much.

I'm not trying to win any awards or anything.. hell, the car is an LX. for people who are on a budget, bought snow tires and want something light and cheap to put on their car, this wheel is pretty nice.

not an enthusiast mod. :)

but, it defintely has a little bit more pickup than before and the wheels feel like they stay on the ground a little better.

School and budget should always come before dropping cash on modifications. Props to you firstly for having your priorities straight

Wheels look good. Style suits the car imo

Thanks, yeah i actually convinced myself that the 450$ or whatever on wheels was worth it since i wouldn't have to keep swapping my snow tires on and off the car. I could have gotten cheaper wheels, but I really think this looks better than the steelies, and i'm enough of a geek that i like the fact they are light.

he is right, but the rims are too small for my liking.

I'll do that with the tires. My car is getting that 'beat up' look from my wife. I specifically took pics from angles where you couldn't see the paint that's missing from the bumpers.

re: negative comments and too small. I agree. I really wanted to get 17 inch rims and some better tires, but in the end, I just couldn't justify it. I'll upgrade the tires once i wear out the POS oem ones. That will help the handling a lot.

I love this car. Its such a work of art without the wheels, and i think they look better. Maybe in 5 years, i'll get some new bigger rims and HFP etc.. LOL.. or I'll just get a car with better pickup.

but yeah.. I wasn't posting this to have people tell me 16 inch wheels are too small, i just wanted to post it in case anyone was in my boat and wanted something better than steelies for cheap and light.

also in person, it looks better i think. It doesn't look fly or anything like 17 inch rims do, but it looks cool.

BTW, I did a lot of research on this site re: wheels and you guys all rock!

No, not at all. Cilantro has been ruining foods for years now. And it's got to stop.

I've got a genetic predisposition towards hating the flavor.
