Thumbs up Dyno Results for 06 Civic EX Auto with K&N Filter

I ran a dyno on my 06 EX AT With K&N filter today.

77 degrees outside.

I had 6 pulls total on the car, 3 in second and 3 in third.

119 HP , 102.5 FT LB Torque at 6500 RPM.

The first graph shows second gear:

The next graph shows third gear:

The next graph shows a combined graph.

Good times, it appears that the civic is running 20 hp less hp at the wheel than at the engine.

Is that why I never got a receipt?

The dyno at the car show show I got my car dyno'd at doesn't even own a performance shop. Two friends went in together and bought a dyno and takes it to events on the weekends. 40 bucks for 2 pulls. ha

Did you hear the story about that engine they were pulling?

This is like the third time in 2 weeks.

The son did mine.

It was crazy watching the dyno from the side near the pc, watching it rip like hell when the vtec kicked in.

Yeah I paid a little more than that but they are local (1 mile from my house) and they did 6 pulls for the same price.

I dont buy that 119 hp? and 102.5 TQ. Bullsh*t someone did a dyno on an Atomic blue EX coupe and it dynoed out at 155 HP and 138 TQ or something how can the HP be lower? I think our cars are 155HP stock. Says the dyno results from the post which is somewhere on the boards.

So what difference did the KN make?? If you got 6 pulls why not do 3 with the KN and 3 without?

Not sure why you are guns a blazin but here is the specs from the Honda site

http://automobiles.honda.com/models/...me=Civic+Sedan

Horsepower @ rpm (SAE net, Rev 8/04)* 140 @ 6300

Torque (lb.-ft. @ rpm) 128 @ 4300

The majority of the people I talk too are getting about 20 less hp at the wheel which puts my car at 1 hp light.

I tossed the stock filter a long time ago.

It was an impulse drive by idea to even get the dyno, Blu By U was getting one at 4 and I tried to get there before he left.

Hell if I would have prepaired, I would have brought my DV camera and got some video.

I only paid for 3 pulls, the guy was more curious because it was an auto.

not unless its a canadian csx, what your talking is crazy, 119 for an auto is about right you have to remember the more drivetrain it has to go through to get to the wheels then the less power it will have when it gets there, but the torque damn that auto eats up a lot of it, thats why im going manual, but also the 140 is at the crank not the wheels like the dyno was taken

The results depend on the dyno used...

I don't think you will ever see those number on ANY dino from ANY civic EX in stock trim EVER.

You my friend read the dino for an Si, which has signifgantly more power than an EX.

Gotcha! Thats too bad, though the amount of difference the KN makes is likely on the same order as the dyno uncertainty.

it should also be noted that Joe's EX is an auto which robs more power than a manual. I think your #'s are right on par man, too bad we dont have a dyno of a stock manual ex.

i know this is an old thread,

maybe it different b/c you have an auto, but you arent supposed to dyno in 2nd gear at all, and 3rd gear isnt ideal either. usually in a car with 5 gears, you dyno in 4th gear(the autos have 5 gears now, right?). you want to dyno in the 1:1 gear, usually 4th gear

Wes
The last 2 dyno charts look like they went over the redline. How did that happen?

what the sticker says and the dyno say are 2 different things, that's 119 at the wheels, not crank...

my old talon put out 298 awhp; that's at all 4 wheels, not crank. you will always have a lower horsepower # on the dyno than the sticker (all things stock) unless you start really modifying.
