EX Coupe 350 watts/aftermarket speakers?

Does anyone know how the 350 is distributed in the coupe? Also, has anyone switched the door, and rear deck speakers only? How was the difference between the stock speakers and the aftermarkets with the factory amp? Thanks for any replies.

I don't feel a need to swap the speakers out because the sound system sounds so good. But to answer the speaker placement question: 2 in each door and three in the rear deck. The doors I believe have tweeters up near the side mirrors and the rear deck has two speakers with the awesome subwoofer right in the middle of the deck.

Good luck with this. I tried to find the answer to the how much power each speaker was getting months ago (search this list in I.C.E). Even the service department had no idea as the information was not in the service manual.

From what I have seen the stock speakers are not too bad for stock, especially compared to past Honda systems. The downside of replacing the speakers is that the stock system has been tuned for the stock speakers. You could get better speakers with a better frequency range but the EQ built into the system will not allow you to take full advantage of aftermarket speakers. You can fix this with a CleanSweep.

I switched my speakers out today. I had the standard (dx-g) stereo and i installed some jbl p652 speakers in the doors.
MAJOR improvement.
When i test drove the ex i was very unhappy with the stereo, thats one of the reasons i chose the dx-g. I didnt want to pay for a stereo that i would be throwing in the trash.
I think all the models use the same speakers (dont flame me on this if i'm wrong) , but the "higher end" factory systems add tweeters and sub to the system. If the factory tweeters and sub are of the same quality as the factory speakers I removed today then they are crap also.
The speakers i installed sound great running off the factory head unit. If i didnt already have a couple of amps and an equalizer i would just run them (probably with a filter to remove the frequencies that my sub would be handling) off the factory deck and add a subwoofer. I think this would be alright for most people unless you like your music really, really loud.
