Angry Jealous Toyota Driver Gives My new Civic Sedan Door Ding!!!

Why my new civic sedan?!?!?! Yesterday I parked next to a Toyota Corolla. A teen was apparently the driver and just kept looking at my Civic. I entered the supermarket and just as I was exiting I see the kid open the passenger door to put something in and he opens it so fast and wide it hits my Civic. I yelled at him and he ran, turned on his car, and floored it. I was going to chase him but first inspected the car. A door ding 2 inches in diameter was left on my flawless new car. Is there anyway I can remove it without having a paint job etc. The stupid jealous kid also caused two scratches which are not very deep but noticable. Any advice will be appreciated. From now on I will try to park away from all the other cars.

I deleted the other thread because it was a duplicate.

Wash her and buff it out. Then wax her. Sorry to hear about the moron in the Corolla. This is exactly why I don't park close to anyone. People are just plain stupid.

I would've got his license plate number, got my ass in the car, called the cops, and followed until the cops pulled them over, and show the mother ****** that you don't do that. To anyone. Ever.

Irresponsible, ignorent, rude SOBs.

They're lucky you weren't me. I would've chased them down and waited for the cops.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune. If the paint is not broken and the dent is not located on a crease line, paintless dent repair should cost you around $60 - $80 dollars. Look through your yellow pages under automotive. Hope this helps and good luck.

So much for feeling at "paz".

Yeah, I always park away from other cars and as far to the left as possible if I have to park next to someone on their left. That way, they have less chance of hitting my car with an errant door.

Of course, if someone wants to go out of their way to vandalize your car, you're pretty much screwed. Sounds like the kid purposefully did that to your car.

If it's any consolation, when I bought my 1994 Civic brand new, within the first month it was keyed, tires were slashed, it was rear-ended and a nail went through a tire sidewall (meaning I had to buy two new tires in less than a month!).

Sorry to hear about your run-in with the idiot.
I'll park next to other cars but always try to size up the other:
1. Is his car nice enough that he wouldn't want to hurt his own?
2. Does the other car have long doors?
3. Minivans are good because of sliding rear doors.
4. Curb spots are good 'cause you can park right up next to it and have more rom on other side.
5. Does the other car have dents/scratches? He probably won't care if he puts one more in it so stay clear.

It's always a roll of the dice.

I been lucky so far. I never park close, but far aways. I always look for car that look too good, clean wax, and shine to park next to. I know that they care about there car.
