cloth material cheap in civics?

hey, i was looking at civics a few months back, but remember liking the scion tc's a lot more seat material wise. well, im trying to rule out the scion now and i really like the interior of the new civics, except for the material. yet, im thinking i didnt give it a fair shot when i sat in it because i was biased to hating civics. then i got into the whole "Si Dealio," but am now realizing it may be too expensive, considering i dont have any money. well, the seats in the civic made me think someone took their crappy corderoys (sp?) and cut them up, then stapled them to the seats of the car. i was sitting in the ivory color i think, and i didnt really like it. is it just me, or are the seats nice looking, nice feeling, and comfortable?

p.s. - sorry for my idiotic ramble, u can just read the last sentence if u want. i guess this should be a pre-script....

I think the quality of the cloth on the seats is better than most of the other cars from the same year I've sat in, to be honest.

Honda's had this unlimited supply of "mouse fur" fabric since the 80's...I think that's what they've been using up until the 8th gen....lol. But it's still nicer than 80% of the stuff out there. Also, some dealers actually do leather installs. Something you could look into.

Yup... if you look at older Honda's they had even worse material. These seats seem to be a step up. As far as comfort, I really don't like being in the civic for much more than 2 hrs, I have to say that American cars are much more comfortable, granted you may not make it to where ever you are going, but at least you will wait in comfort for the tow truck.

I say that because when ever we go on road trip, we always end up taking my truck, which makes no sence at all because the civic gets high 30's on the highway and the truck gets about 18 MPG, is much harder to park and so furth. But the trucks seats are FAR more comfortable, adjustable lumbar and all this other crap, and it's not even the "good" seats. Anyway, it is far easier to drive on long huals than the civic.

Oh yeah, and as far as the actual quality of the seat material, I think it is good. Even the "mouse fur" seats seem to last a long time without ripping. I have the ivory interior and was VERY worried about stains, ends up it isn't bad at all. I think the quality of the material is good, even if it is a little different.

We've had other Hondas up to 12 years old and 180k miles and no seat rips or tears.

I found the 06 Civic seats to be exceedingly comfortable, and the cloth fabric really made me reopen my eyes to cloth (I've wanted leather after owning three cloth interiors).

I prefer the black cloth interior, based on looks, but the seats support my body (Im pretty thin) very well, and they are comfy.

I actually prefer the mouse fur fabric over some of GM's options :P.

Man, this year's Civic is leaps and bounds better than my 99' Civic. The interior plastic moldings leave more to be desired (scratch pretty easily) but one of the first things I noticed when I sat in the driver's seat was the comfort. It's waaay more comfortable and the material feels like some faux suede, very smooth. I love the whole redesign of the interior and every friend who comes in for the first time compares it to a space craft, especially at night with all the blue lights and LCD's (I have an aftermarket Pioneer HU with blue led display, Garmin i5 with LCD display, and the stock digital speedometer lit up, and interior blue LED courtesy lights). Give the seats another try and hopefully you'll change your mind. It's a great car and I look forward to driving it every single day.

the color selection isn't the best, but the quality of the fabric is pretty nice.

it's far better than the previous gen civic seats, imho.

Even though everything is a leap and a bound from my 95 civic the new seats in the civics are so nice. The fabric is soft and seems very sturdy. I doesn't seem like it will crush easily. The only thing i don't like are the head rests, they seem to jutt forward and my head doesn't rest comfortably on them, but it could have been the position of the seat too... other than that every thing seems long lasting, and very distinguished.
