Arrow difference between dohc ivtec and sohc ivtec???

hey guys i tried to search this but no find =( ... but what exactly is the difference between DOHC for the Si and SOHC for the civics???

DOHC is double overhead cams. Meaning there is a seperate cam for the intake and exhaust valves. SOHC is single overhead cam. meaning all the valves are run off the same cam. One major benifit of dohc is allowing an engine to rev much higher safely.

Well, for starters:
DOHC = Double Overhead Cams
SOHC = Single Overhead Cam

oh wow i feel really stupid

thank you for explaining it to me... is there a big difference in those 2 besides the fact that dohc can shift at higher rpms?

continuous valve timing is only in the k20. vtec in the r18 is more for gas mileage.
