Chrome Exhaust Finisher is missing on my EX Coupe
Hi all,
One of the things I appreciated when I looked at the upgraded features of the EX was the chrome exhaust. So when I was looking over my EX last week upon my purchase, I was a bit disappointed that it wasn't chrome, it was simple stainless steel metal. I brought the car in today for something that has to get done, I asked my salesman about it.....he said it was normal. Tonight I noticed another EX in a parking lot that definitely had a different tailpipe...it was much thicker, and as I thought....chrome. The part I need for what I brought it in for originally is being ordered, I'm calling about this tomorrow, before I call I want to make sure they get it right. I was wondering if the chrome exhaust finisher is a part that goes over the tailpipe and screws in or gets welded on, or is it all part of the exhaust? Thanks in advance for some feedback on this. I just want to know if this is going to be a project, or a simple installation. |

Unfortunately no......if you took the shiny chrome part off, and you look at whats underneath that....its a smaller dull tailpipe....Id like to take photos, but its after 12:30......its the LX/DX tailpipe......so is this finisher an easy install or a project? |

Thats what I'm looking to do.....I was disappointed.....I'm wondering if they took it off mine to put it on another car, and didnt replace it. My biggest concern overall is that it isnt a full muffler replacement....and instead just a simple install.....the one I looked at in the parking lot didnt look like it had a simple screw on bolt type of pipe.....looked more like it was welded or the muffler came like that....I wasnt going to poke around someone elses car too much....so I was wondering if anyone else here may had known.

Take it to dealer and tell them to put one on for you cause it was supposed to come with one. I've done it to my LX and it's a very easy install. You just need the finisher and a bolt to screw on to the existing tailpipe. It was like 2 minutes install. Good luck at the dealership!

Yeah, the EX coupe has the chrome finisher as standard equipment. The EX sedan does not. Did you pay for an EX coupe but they gave you an LX instead? I assume not, but you'd better check anyway. Bring it to your dealer and file a formal complaint with Honda. They need to get their act together at the Ontario plant. Most complaints that I've noticed on the boards involve more coupe owners than sedan owners. I've said it before, I think Terence and Phillip are working at Honda Canada.

I appreciate all the feedback. I called the dealer yestarday, they are ordering the finisher along with the other part (a decal for the top of the door jam....it was a bit scratched up) It is definitely the EX....has everything advertised minus the chrome tailpipe. One more question while Im at it.....by the spoiler there is a little slit of paint that seems to have peeled....just seems to have happened this week....is that a warranty thing or do I have to take that to a detailer?
