Exclamation To Trade or Not to Trade, that is the question.

I have a 2006 Civic EX Sedan, Auto with navigation.
I have invested tint by Formula one all around (including the top eyebrow).
Properly broken into, maintained and the car currently has about 11k.

It is in immaculate condition in and out.
I purchased it then for roughly $22-23k. and still owe about 7k

Now I spot a White Civic SI Sedan and a Silver SI Sedan (both 07)
White for $22,9xxk
Silver for $19,995

UPDATED:
Well it came down to this...
Even though the dealer was wiling to offer a price. It is way too low and decided I am just going to keep the EX because its more practical for daily.
I plan to get a S2000 down the road in the next 1-3 years so... I will just play with the EX for now. I just wish it was standard I suppose...

If you could get the KBB amount for a trade in, i'd do it in a heartbeat. I tried in the springtime then again a few months ago and I couldnt even get them close to the KBB #.

The kick in gas mileage, premium gas and non-navi would be worth it for the extra power and 'spunk' the Si has over the EX/LX/DX -- at least to me it would be.

I think the ultimate thing is if it will effect your finances in too much a negative way. if you only dirve the car for commuting/economy.... then the EX A/T is fine. If you drive 'spunkily' (yea, not a word... i know). Then the Si is definately for you.

i have a 06 EX sedan myself with AT. if you use the car like me as just
an economical commuter just keep it. it's nice and drives relatively smooth.

if you drive even a little bit aggressively, trade it in and get the MT.
the 5AT on our sedans are smooth until you try driving the car quick.
the pos AT just starts confusing itself searching for gears...then you
try the shifter, but it's not even gated so hard to shift correctly on
the fly. yah yah, you can make all the excuses you want, but it's
nothing like paddle shifters or even the simple forward/aft sportshifters.

if you drive normally, keep the AT
if you drive spiritedly, go with MT

Thats what i hate about the dealers, why wont they give you a fair price on the trade in, after all you will be buying a new car from them again.

They will give you 14k for your car and re-sell it for 19k, i think thats full of crap.

Too bad Honda of America didn't offer the paddle shifters or offer a dealer installed option for them. Shouldn't be that hard or costly for paddle shifters.

$14k? I don't feel that bad anymore, I've got an 07 ASM LX Coupe with 9K, tint, would be back to stock for the trade, they wanted to give me $13,800 on a trade for an Si Sedan. KBB was between 15 and 16, but they gave me the whole, "very few cars fall into the excellent condition category". I'm keeping mine, probably until the next gen is out (I've got a lot owed on the car).

Yea... they always try to go lower than the KBB by 2-3k and resale it 2-3k higher.

The local one I actually had a better deal like 15k to almost 16k.
But you know.. they will resale it for 18-19k at least... I decide to just keep it in for fun. Put small mods like the SI sway, nicer tires and maybe chance rim color with DIY or do a package.

I am consider intake and catback as well but its harder to find stuff for R18... I think... I don't want to spend too much on the car since I plan to more on the s2k. This is more daily anyways...
