Also, you can always upgrade the LX if you wish....

chrome finisher $30
Alloys $400 (Keep ur tires and TPMS)
Si Spoiler $200

I would suggest get the EX.....though. I got an LX and now i regret everyday.....its just $2000 more and EMI comes to just some few bucks more.

There really is no comparison between the LX and Si. They are just two completely different vehicles. One is a mid-level trim and the other is a premium trim. It would be like comparing the Accord LX with the Acura TL-Type S...both are made by Honda, and that's about all they have in common.

More like comparing an auto 4 cyl. Accord LX with a 6 speed 6 cyl. Accord EX.

I guess you're not aware of the differences like the K20 engine, 17 inch wheels, the special front bucket seats with the red stitching...should i go on?

Both have different chassis FA chassis vs. FG chassis. Same suspension, but with different chassis..the ride will feel slightly different.

with the Si fist of all you dont have to leave your balls at the dealership... you get a badass civic... equipped with all the stuff civic people have been missing forever.

for ex, 200hp, LSD, 6 speed, red stitch... things civic lovers never thought the car would come with from the USDM factory.

the Si differences over lower models... EX,LX,DX :

interior

black interior with red stitch
bucket seats
red numbered quages
si floor mats
alum pedals
S2k shift knob

exterior

17" wheels
agressive spoiler
Si badges
painted front grill
iVtec logo
on the coupe Si only amber ring on inside of the headlight around the highbeams

Performance

K20Z3 motor
6 speed trans
LSD
front and rear sway bars
larger exhaust
sprts muffler
NSX style mufffler tip
S2k front brake rotors
stiffer and lower struts and springs
larger front drive axles
stronger knuckes and a arms
factory tq dampner (arm from engine mount to strut tower on passenger side)
stronger end links
additional chassis reinforcment
mine personally came with summer tires
EGO

The Si is better in performance, exterior and interior.

There really is no camparison to the cars. The Si is a sporty, fun car while the other trims are fuel economy cars. It's kind of hard to compare the two when they each are built for a different purpose.

The Si is about 230 lbs. heavier than the LX.

They really need to allow the consumer the choice of rear wings on the SI, personally, I'm not a big fan of the one that comes with the car currently.

its simply a diffferent car asside from the shared interior plastics, chassis base, lights, and paint. other than that everything is different.

Si is truly a special car

LX,EX,DX is not... messes with my mind to see civic enthusiasts on here not driving Si's and in some cases making excuses or saying negative things about the car. if you like civic and/or honda then hats off to the Si... the closest thing to CTR the US has ever seen.

What about their body? I know that SI comes with a spoiler,... but besides that what are the noticeble differences between them.

What about SI vs. EX and EX vs. LX?

The Si is in a different category form the rest of the Civics. Its a different car built for a different reason and has many many many different features over the EX let alone the LX.

Here are the things that pop into my head that the Si has over the EX

K20z3 197hp engine
CAI (cold air intake)
6 speed manual transmission
LSD (helical limited-slip differential)
VSA (traction and stability control system)
EPS (electric power steering)
Larger front and rear stabilizer Bars
Larger front brakes
Red line Shift light
Aluminum sport pedals
Unique interior trim and red gauge illumination
Si logo floor mats
17 inch tires with unique Si wheels
Black Alcantara bolstered red stitched seats with Si logo
Leather wrapped steering wheel
Unique Si grill with logo
Leather wrapped aluminum shift knob with red stitched boot
Unique Si specific amber trimmed headlights
Rear deck wing

I'm sure I missed a few things.

The Si is a nice car with special features, but it's not anything over the top extraordinary. Just because someone is a Civic enthusiast doesn't mean that they must drive an Si to prove it.

I'll clearify myself...i'm not down-playing the unique qualities of the Si, just merely saying that the Si is just one of many performance type vehicles out there for a reasonable price.

if they are civic enthusiasts or honda in the price range specifically i dont see how.

either your poor, or you dont have a choice.

no enthusiast buys a R18 cause they are amazing... they make an exception. join a forum and who knows.

only excuses can explain...

i chose the Si specifically. drove the GTI, STI, EVO. i have experience with the motor from my swapped EP so i had bias. dont like finicky turbos, apreciate the K power band. STI/EVOs were boring for the money for me to make switch from honda aside from the power which i dont need anymore trouble if i want my job to keep me on their insurance. i dont want to say i drive a VolksWagon plus im yet to see a reliable one. i felt like i saved alot of money and have navi and everything i love, its like honda hooked me up for 20k. why in the hell as a long time civic/Honda lover would i buy a R18... i would wrather have Fit cause then at least i could get the top model for the price.

plus alot of these people on here in 5 years will be on another forum when they can afford something else especially the R18 guys. not me, ive been driving Si's for a long time and it seems that honda has matured the brand with me. i cant refuse. being a honda lover i save money, drive a car made to be fun everyday, win on resale every time and own a car from a hell of a car maker.

The problem with this forum is that people such as yourself make statements like this that say if someone does not own an Si and are an enthusiast, then they must be poor or they cannot possibly be an enthusiast. Your logic may work with yourself, but it definately does not apply to everyone on here. Many people could care less about the Si, because to them it may be unneccassary to drive a car of that caliber. I'm an auto enthusiast and honestly have no interest whatsoever about driving an Si, it has absolutely nothing to do with money. If i want a performance vehicle from Honda, i would buy the Accord V6 6-speed before i bought an Si.

I went

'82 Prelude
'93 del Sol
'02 Civic Si
'06 Ridgeline
'08 Civic Si

When I get a new Car I go See what Honda has and thats it.

The Accord doesn't have the boy racer look though, I actually like that lol. Recapture my youth and all That and the sport accord is 8 grand more and gets worse milage

I agree with ya though, I had a ridgeline for a few years and I thought I was just as much of a honda fan/enthusiast. I think maybe the poster you are responding to was mainly talking about those that bought a Civic EX (which isn't a ton cheaper) and then talk on here about making it faster, modding etc. Those folks should have got the Si. Thats the Car Honda is marketing to the tuner crowd. The LX is a lot cheaper so that could be money there.
