Does the LX and EX have the same interior (color, material)?

Lets say both cars are have the exact same body type and color, would there be a difference in the interior (color and material wise) between the LX and EX?

No, the LX and EX share the same interiors. However, the DX only comes with a gray interior.

Check the "build a car" at the Honda site for more details.

The color is the same, but the actual material is different.

I believe that the interior seat fabric pattern is different between the LX and the EX, but it's really not hardly noticeable or noteworthy.

As far as interior components, the EX has steering wheel audio controls and the LX doesn't, the EX has a bigger sound system, and a sunroof.

I think that's really all that is different.

Is the material of higher quality, or is it the same quality just with a different pattern/design?

Your dealer should have a binder that has samples of the cloth. The EX has more material in the cloth than the LX, but it's hardly noticeable.

If you are looking at the sedans, the EX also includes trunk and hood insulation.

Price them both out with your Honda dealership. Also get internet quotes for both. The difference in MSRP between the LX and EX may be $1,800, but the difference in the price you negotiate may only end up being a few hundred dollars.

Yes, it does. But I don't think the LX does. I may be wrong.

I have an LX coupe,

NO:
hood/trunk insulation
sun roof
steering wheel audio controls (bigger sound system)
rear disk brakes (biggest downside to the LX in my opinion)
prob. more but can't think of them off the top of my head

I don't think any coupe gets trunk insulation.

I am not sure about the trunk insulation and thus I am not going to comment. The other thing to keep in mind is that there are also some differences between the US and Canadian models, so you guys should be careful who posts what.

To give you an example, my EX sedan has heated outside mirrors, but as far as I know in the States you guys don't get that. In the States you get remote trunk release in the EX, which here in Canada we don't get.

I looked at the binder at the dealership when purchasing my EX. The DX has a cheaper feel to it than the LX and EX. The difference between the LX and EX is much smaller. It is just enough to make EX owners think they are getting something better, but the difference is small enough that it really isn't a deal breaker. Check it out, you may even find you like the LX cloth style better.
