best performance mods for the r18

I don't want ot hear, shoudl have bought an SI, I'm just looking for a couple things to do to make it a little more zippy and have fun doing it. I have been reading alot on here and the NST pullies are a good option for the money. I'll probably end up getting a intake and exhaust at some point.

what are you all doing?

Definately intake and exhaust. Id do that before pulleys IMHO. THere are some Turbo kits in development also but they will be $$$.
Suspension (HFP) will also help the vehicle out in handling etc.

hte pullies are inexpensive compared to a full exhaust and intake. And on our 18 motor... what are people getting from a decent intake and exhaust?

^^ lol i agree w/ that... I was gonna try and do performance mods to my car but decided not to just because its an R18 auto. I'm not gonna beat many cars in a race unfortunately. But if you were to do performance mods, if you have the $$, go with a turbo or NOS. But for a little less $, do catback and suspension. The handling gains that I've heard people get from new suspensions is worth the $$.

whats wrong with an r18 auto, my friend has an automatic d16 and that thing runs, about a 14.5, just cuz its automatic doesnt mean itll hold you back that much, true it will some but mods will cancel out that dbw lag we get.

That lag that you are talking about can be fixed. My buddy took his Si to the dealership and they fixed it for free. All Si's that have lag can be fixed for free, I believe. But it took my buddy's lag away.

yes you did. I'm planning on getting an EX with lip kit in white. Mostly for looks. I will be getting wheels and suspension like i previously mentioned, because handling with these cars are really important.
From what I have seen, intakes and exhausts are retarded expensive for what they do for you power wise. that is why I was inquireing about the pullies. NST, i have read alot about them. I know these aren;t hte most powerfull engine out there, but I'm sure they can be zippy with a few mods. And you can have some fun along the way doing them!

just my 2 cents

I vote for NST pulleys...performance without decreasing your MPG!

My only concern would be the dealership voiding out the warranty on the motor should problems arise.

The lag is due to the throttle, it cant be completely removed. although increasing the airflow with catback and intake it decreases it... and I'd say to get that and some springs and YOU should be good. I'm staying away from pullies though :].

Yeah but in that post I was thinking he was talking about Si lag, not R18 lag. My friend got his shift lag fixed on his Si- but I know the throttle lag cannot completely be fixed.
