I don't reside in California, however I think it would be completely legal. If amber is allowed, why not yellow? Unless you're considering blue or red, then I wouldn't sweat it. If you want, I can move this to the North/South California forum to get you a better answer.

yeas it is illegal. you wont get pulled overfor them unless the cop needs to really be a dick and fill his quota. since you are going to put them on your drl's the only time they will output yellow light is when you use your high beams.

oh mans im gonna get pulled over, one day i installed one of it on the left side and i was getting looked at by the cops. WEll i Disconnected the wires even though i wont be able to use my Drls or my high beams the DRl light warnning from the inside of my guages keeps lighting up o well.
