if its still around 3k then yes, esp. if u a lot...as ur mileage increases, the burning will decrease

Its normal when the car is brand new, and you hit Vtec alot. If you do switch from Mobil1 synthetic you cant go back to conventional oil. Have to keep it synthetic from now on.

I burn quite a bit more than I expected, add a quart every 1500-3000 (mobil1). At 23k now. It burned oil the first 10k with conventional as well. Did the break-in by the manual too. Oh well

this rumor is not true. You dont have to stick with Synthetic once you use it. A lot of people think this.

You can go back and forth from synthetic to regular as much as you want. If you want to learn about oil go over to bobistheoilguy.com (BITOG)...you will be overwhelmed of the amount of info that you can learn about oil and stuff like that.

I noticed the same thing. I have been using about a quart to refill before
changing the oil again. 16k on the car, only use Mobil 1, and rev it high at least a couple of times a day.

I have a R18. Check your oil dip stick and see if the oil goes down over time.

It would seem that the K series sometimes use's alittle oil. Be it Si, Accord, TSX. A quart in 3k miles seems extreme. Our K24 Accord use's about a 1/2 quart ever 10k miles. I run blend of M1 0w-20 and 5w-20 in it at 10k mile oil changes with PureOne or M1 oil filters. I ue the same filters in the R-18 and run M1 0w-20 with no visable oil usage on the dipstick between it 10k mile oil changes.

Some engines are funny about the oil they like. If I put M1 in my 2.5L Ranger it will blow and burn the stuff. Put the Motorcraft oil in it and it will only use 1/2 quart between oil changes.
